See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Dr. Keith Watts

Dr. Keith Watts brings a wealth of knowledge and an enthusiasm that captivates his audiences — or rather, students. Although Keith is a former professor of geology, his interests cover all aspects of natural history, including the ecology of plants, wildlife, fire, and human history. He sings, laughs, takes on the personas of historic characters, and uses innovative approaches to illustrate mountain building, glacial advances, and volcanic bulges. His seemingly endless bag of illustrations will enable you to understand natural history with a minimum of jargon. Dr. Watts was featured as one of a panel of six experts on Grand Teton National Park in National Geographic Traveler magazine and was interviewed extensively in Travel Audio’s – Grand Teton National Park. His educational excursions have been highlighted in the Kansas City Star, San Diego Herald and The New York Times.

Dr. Ann Mattson

Dr. Ann Mattson has spent her life learning about geology. She was born in Juneau, Alaska, and enjoyed beach-combing and collecting rocks with her family — that interest continued as she moved on to Deadwood, S.D. and then Colorado. After graduating from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, with a major in geophysical engineering and a minor in geology, she moved to Houston, Texas to pursue a career in the oil industry. Ann worked for Shell Oil Company and several independent oil companies for nine years before returning to graduate school with the goal of teaching geology. She attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah receiving a M.S. in geology and a doctorate in active tectonics. Ann taught several classes during that time at both the University of Utah and Utah State University. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Jackson, Wyoming. Today, Ann works as an Interpretive Park Ranger in Grand Teton National Park, inspiring visitors about the world around them.
