See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Ben Gadd

Ben Gadd is one of Canada’s better-known naturalists and Rockies writers. Author of the ground-breaking “Handbook of the Canadian Rockies,” Ben has written eight other books and contributed to several more. His novel, “Raven’s End,” has become a prize-winning Canadian best-seller. Ben has received three Banff Mountain Book Festival awards for his work. Educated as a geologist, Ben has pursued a career mainly in natural history, including a stint as a Parks Canada naturalist. He has also taught writing at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Grant MacEwan College. For nearly 30 years, he has worked in the summer as a freelance interpretive guide — he is one of only six master guides in Canada’s professional Interpretive Guides Association — and in the winter as a writer and sought-after lecturer on Rockies topics. Heard frequently on CBC radio, Ben has also appeared in many television items and several documentaries on the Rockies.

Tracey Gage

With degrees in wildlife biology from Guelph University and geography and teaching from Lakehead in Thunder Bay, Tracey has been a professional excursion leader, educator and naturalist for over 20 years. Since living in Western Canada, she has worked as a grizzly bear and whale expert on the B.C. coast, a bear educator and trainer in Lake Louise and a hiking leader throughout the Canadian Rockies. Tracey currently calls Canmore home and refers to the Mountain National Parks as her “office.” Throughout the year she works as an event planner and executive director of a local not-for-profit group that trains educational excursion leaders to work in Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay and Waterton National Parks. Tracey loves the mountains and what the Bow Valley has to offer to locals and guests alike. When not outings, you can find Tracey out on her mountain bike on one of the areas many trails or decked out in climbing gear, scaling a local limestone cliff.
