John Krist

John Krist is the chief executive officer of the Farm Bureau of Ventura County, the region’s oldest and largest agricultural association. Before joining the Farm Bureau, he was a journalist for over 24 years, working as an editor, reporter and columnist for the Ventura County Star. A published author, John’s books include: “Voyage of Rediscovery,” based on his experiences retracing the Lewis and Clark trail, and “Living Legacy: The Story of Ventura County Agriculture.”

Frank Barajas

Dr. Frank Barajas was born and raised in Oxnard, Calif., and is currently an associate professor of history at California State University at Channel Islands. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in history from California State University, and a Ph.D. from the Claremont Graduate University. Dr. Barajas’ research focuses on the history and culture of Southern California, and his academic curiosity is inspired by his familial ancestry in the region.
