EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Mr. Alan Rumrill

Alan Rumrill is the executive director of the Historical Society of Cheshire County. Born in New Hampshire, Alan has a degree in history and has specialized in the history of the Monadnock region. "Monadnock Moments" will be part of the resources he will use from his weekly radio program to present stories of special people and places in southwest New Hampshire.

Mr. Ron Arden

Ron Arden — a professional violist, baritone soloist and conductor — has taught Road Scholar courses for nearly 20 years. Living and working in the greater Chicagoland area, Ron teaches voice as adjunct faculty at a local community college, is director of community orchestra, and plays viola in a string quartet and orchestra. He works as a consultant with churches to enhance worship ministries, and joins with his wife Cynthia in the music ministry of "A Cross Between."

Mrs. Cynthia Arden

Cynthia Arden is a professional violinist, pianist and teacher living and working in the greater Chicagoland area. In addition to giving private instrumental lessons, she plays in two orchestras, string quartets and serves as minister of music at her church. She works with her husband, Ron, in the music ministry of "A Cross Between." Cynthia has shared her gifts with the violin and piano on numerous Road Scholar programs, and enjoys performing a variety of musical genres.

Mr. Walt Sayre

Walt Sayre is currently the music director at St. James Episcopal Church in Keene N.H., having retired from a 36-year music teaching career in New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.
