Road Scholar
Program #14419RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Group Leaders

Group Leaders make sure your program runs smoothly and are attuned to the needs of Road Scholar participants. These Group Leaders are participating on at least one day of one date of this program.
Please note that changes may occur.

Mr. Hector Cardenas

After a 34-year career as a paramedic and firefighter for the San Antonio Fire Department, Hector Cardenas retired and began a second career sharing his love of his native city as a group leader. The Vietnam War veteran has also long been a community activist, focusing on issues from urban housing to public parks. Hector continues to help San Antonio by serving on the boards of several community groups and commissions.

Ms. Della Savage

Born in Mississippi but residing most of her life in San Antonio, Della Savage retired in 2005 after 25 years with San Antonio College, a college of Alamo Community Colleges. She volunteered for two years on Road Scholar programs with the Jewish Community Center before becoming a certified program leader. She is a member of the San Antonio Professional Tour Guide Association and enjoys sharing with others the wonderful history, sights and tastes of San Antonio.
