Mr. Travis Bowman

Travis Bowman has been a historic preservation program analyst with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation since November of 2007. Prior to his work with the SHPO, Travis served as the curator of collections at Clermont State Historic Site, where he published the book, “Bob’s Folly: Fulton, Livingston and the Steamboat.” Since 2003, he has been an adjunct professor of history at Columbia Greene Community College in Hudson, N.Y.

Mr. Don Papson

Don Papson is the founding president of the North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association, a not-for-profit dedicated to celebrating the importance of the Champlain Line of the Underground Railroad. He curated all of the exhibits of the North Star Underground Museum at Ausable Chasm, and he is currently co-authoring a book on the Underground Railroad in New York City. Don’s research interests also include the abolition of slavery, the Battle of Plattsburgh, and the Civil War.
