Current information on Cuba can be found in the Omaha World Herald newspaper. They are publishing a series of 8 articles about the "New Cuba".

I will be traveling on this tour starting May 4, 2016.

What a superb series! Articles and photos really tell the story of how Cuba is changing so dramatically. Thanks for the link!

The suggested reading list for participants of this program is regrettably quite outdated.
There are 2 recent publications which may be of interest to you.
The latest(2016)FODOR'S CUBA ISBN 9781101880234
The lovely pictorial album EMBRACING CUBA by Byron Motley(2015) ISBN9780813061153

I went to Cuba with Road Scholar in May of 2014. The most fascinating history I read of Cuba from the 30's to the 70's was a book called Havana Nocturne. Actually I listened to it and was fascinated.

Thomas Bruno Jan 26, 2016 at 06:32 AM

We went in January 2015.
Upon my return I filmed a 17 minute video entitled "Cuba Travel Tips" with notes for future travelers. You might find it helpful, or not. YMMV

Its on YouTube:
