Hi. I did call about the parka and found that we get one for free but have to call in our size. The number is 866-359-5966.
George Friedman Aug 25, 2013 at 06:12 PM

Hi Joan --thanks much for the post --sorry for the delay, life is nutsy. I'll give you a call on your cell first chance. Aloha, George

Joan Asprakis Aug 23, 2013 at 01:54 PM

Hi, again. Is anyone taking a parka? It's not listed in the packing list but I've seen that other tours provide them.

Joan Asprakis Aug 14, 2013 at 06:05 PM

HI, George et al. I'm leaving on the 13th to fly to Miami from Phila., PA to see one of my sons before flying to Buenos Aires. I got natural meds for malaria and yellow fever as I'm avoiding prescription meds as much as possible. I've also gotten a natural insect repellent and am looking into insect repellent clothing.
As far as Antactica, packing all the gear we need will be a challenge. I've read online that snow goggles are better than sunglasses as it may be wet and windy. Also, wristbands for seasickness and ginger lozenges as well as over the counter meds are going into my suitcase. I found if you do a search for the ship, you'll come up with comments and feedback from other travelers who have gone on our ship to Antarctica. Their insight has been useful in making my packing list, etc. I recently got an iphone to save space as I can take pics with it.
Thanks for listing your numbers. My cell # is 267-265-6744.

Hi. I'm going on the Iguazu Falls extension on the 14th and then on to Antarctica. Is anyone flying down from Miami on the 14th?
I'd like to meet up and make the connection together. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Falls. Have you gotten malaria and yellow fever meds, George?
George Friedman Aug 04, 2013 at 11:17 PM

Joan et al, I'm scheduled to leave Maui 7 Oct to spend a few days in NJ before going to Miami on 13 Oct to hang briefly with one set of kids. Lets talk about beginning the journey to Deep Freeze! I did Yellow Fever last year before paddling up the Amazon and I don't do Malaria prophylacticly anymore. These by the by are not required for Argentina. I just read Shackleton's journal and think i should probably supplement my surf shorts and slippers with some winter wear. Aloha, George home: 808-878-3002; office 808-244-5500

Paula Wright Jul 03, 2013 at 10:39 PM

Looking for others going on the Oct. Antarctic Peninsula, etc. trip.
George Friedman Jul 14, 2013 at 10:47 PM

Paula, you may have found one! I'm looking forward to heading to Iguazu 14, October and onto Buenos Aries to hop on the MS Expedition. Aloha, George

George Friedman Jun 23, 2013 at 09:42 PM

Dean --I hear we're sailing to Antarctica together. Call me, George (808-878-3002)
