Hi all. Took this trip last year and enjoyed it very much. Re bugs, I encourage you to buy/bring a bug net for your head. It's kind of like a hair net that goes over your hat. It's quite comfortable and very helpful. Also suggest you plan to wear long sleeve shirts and pant legs for the hikes especially. I brought a pair of nylon pants - light weight and dry quickly. It was a great trip and I hope you enjoy it.

Go to REI and buy some bug stuff.

Hi there! My husband John and I are looking forward to this trip July 27-Aug. 2. We live in the Twin Cities area(Plymouth). Any suggestions on bug repellent? ;)

Joseph, Guess I'll meet you in Ely. I must take the shuttle up from Duluth, as I am coming from Wilmington, DE, by way of Lake Nebagamon, WI, July 16th. Is Madison near the Lake Neba.????

Joseph Warnemuende May 20, 2014 at 05:35 PM

Driving from Madison, wi on 7/20. Have room for a passenger.
Diane Garcia May 27, 2014 at 02:22 PM

Any chance you might go by Duluth airport?
Joseph Warnemuende Jul 04, 2014 at 02:48 PM

I am going to go right by the airport early afternoon. If you are still looking for a lift, let me know.
Diane Garcia Jul 04, 2014 at 06:58 PM

Joseph that would be awesome! My flight arrives in Duluth 10:30 am so I would be ready whenever you arrived!
