We receieved an email from Natalie at Holbrook travel some weeks before the trip with sizes and pricing etc. Then we picked them up on the boat.

Jo Anne Kusudo Aug 25, 2014 at 01:50 PM

I rented the wetsuit on board the "Galivan." I can't remember the cost.

Jean Rhame Aug 25, 2014 at 10:02 AM

Does anyone have a recommendation on renting a wetsuit?

Lillian Oberjohn Aug 25, 2014 at 11:58 AM

Jean, it all depends on when you are going. Our trip was in early June and we did use the wetsuits.

Wanda Stephens Aug 20, 2014 at 01:25 AM

Carol, I'm not sure when your trip is but I would call as soon as you decide bc there is a limit to the number of tickets sold daily to enter Machu Picchu. I just happened to call Holbrook Travel today and found out the additional day is $95. You can catch the bus at 5:30 am to arrive when it opens at 6 and you have to return at 11 am to allow time to join the rest of your group for the day. I spoke with Deb and she was very informative. I chose to return the next day bc I will never be back there again and felt the cost was worth the experience. Hope this is helpful.

Jennifer Galovich Aug 19, 2014 at 05:48 PM

I don't recall the exact price of the ticket -- we inquired with the Holbrook Travel people for the answers to those questions. As I recall the money was significant and the time frame was short.

Carol King Aug 19, 2014 at 03:35 PM

Going back to the thread about the option to rerun to Machu Picchu a second day. I will probably want to return. So how far in advance do I need to make that decision. And what's the price of that ticket?
Todd Betterton Aug 19, 2014 at 07:04 PM

Holbrooke sells that return ticket for $90 and you have to purchase it prior to your departure
Todd Betterton Aug 19, 2014 at 07:06 PM

Sorry, just looked back at my stuff from Holbrooke and the 2nd day ticket is $95 not $90

Jennifer Galovich Aug 17, 2014 at 05:33 PM

We did not buy the insurance and never have done so for any trip. We have never needed it. On the other hand, we did choose to get our plane tix through RS and glad we did and RS changed the arrival and departure cities after we already had our tix. Since we had use their agency, the agency was responsible for the rebooking fees.

Jennifer Galovich Aug 17, 2014 at 05:28 PM

Linda -- A skirted bathing suit will not work, in my view. this was like the tightest girdle you never wanted to wear. I got a cheapo tank at Target.
Linda Pratt Aug 17, 2014 at 06:17 PM

Thanks, Jennifer. I wondered about that. I am going to be there the first week of December so may not need the wetsuit but thought I'd reserve one to be on the safe side.
Jan Bandrofchak Aug 20, 2014 at 01:22 PM

also, a little powder helped to worm our way into the wetsuits!
