Is anyone coming with a young grandson? We may go to Sliding Rock the morning of checkin and would enjoy having company.

My granddaughter and I had a wonderful time at this great program! Instructor was superb, especially with the children. Montreal is the perfect, magical place to explore Narnia!

Hi, my grand daughter and I are coming in August, she from Conn. and me from Florida. Any others out there registered...looking to find out what else is around there. Marsha

We live in Asheville NC and are bringing our grandson in August from north of Chicago. There is SO MUCH to do around here that all you have to do is ask me!

Hi Curtis, We will be driving up from Charlotte, spending 2 days in ashville, the to Montreat. Where do you suggest the must see things are? Marsha

Depends on the activity level. Take a gander at http://www.romanticasheville.com. The Mountain Dance and Folk Festival is that weekend, as is the Mineral and Gem Festival. There is rafting, about an hour away a real cave at Linville Caverns, zip lining for her age here in town, and of course all kinds of activities at the Biltmore Estate. Give me an idea of what she likes to do.

Hi Curtis, she is 14, both festivals sound interesting, and mild river rafting...I would love to get her on a horse is there is someplace around too

www.biltmore.com has info about both gentle rafting and horseback riding at the Biltmore Estate. I also recommend the Segway rides, if you both have never been on one. They have those in downtown Asheville, too. Make your first stop at the Visitors' Center at 36 Montford Ave, Asheville, NC 28801 or call them at (828) 258-6101 to find out what has just come up that day. Since you will be in Asheville itself, do take advantage of staying right in town. She will like shopping down there, too. Weird stuff. The River Arts District is a must see, with hundreds of working studios in any kind of medium you can imagine. Friday night drum circle in Pritchard Park is mesmerizing after the first five minutes. And there are groupons for massages right now, if you wanted to do that together.
