ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hi Everyone. You can buy the Colorado Railroad Map from the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden when we visit it on the 2nd day. I ordered it online from them and the postage is more than the map-a total of $10.82. Museum price is $4.95.It helps one visualize where we will be going. Husband and I are coming from Palm Desert, CA & looking forward to cool mountain air.

We're looking forward excitedly to this train adventure - we're from Florida & it is HOT here - can't wait for that cool mountain air! Anybody else going? And where are you coming from?
Debbie Wickman Aug 12, 2014 at 03:12 PM

We're coming from Green Bay. We've had a cool, beautiful summer. Also very excited about the trip!

Wondered also if we can buy our National Park Pass when there. We are from Green Bay and there are no National Offices nearby. We are going on the 9/21 trip and are really excited. We will be driving to Denver, spending 4 days in South Dakota and 4 days in Denver first

Hi Debbie, thanks for enrolling! It sounds like you'll have some nice adventures before the program as well. If you're interested in a national parks pass you could either pick it up on your pre-program adventures or when you visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park during the program. Or perhaps the easiest is to get it using the application available online on the National Park Service website: http://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm Feel free to e-mail us directly (we are the provider for this program) with any other questions at info@mpills.org

I did this program last Sept 2014. It was excellent.

I am so looking forward to this trip beginning a week from today.
Can I buy my National Park Pass when we get to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison?
I have been to most of the places on this trip and for those who have not, you are in for a treat.

My husband and I are going on the 9/14 -22 trip. This will be our first trip with RS. We took a train across Canada and loved it. Looking forward to this trip!
