Virginia Vail, no matter what Road Scholar says, we have found almost everyone tips the guide and the bus driver. I know it is not necessary but, believe me, they appreciate it and usually perform more services that required. Also, exit fee is $29. not what I said on Jan 26.

Anna Osborn Jan 19, 2016 at 09:21 AM

Anyone on board who is going March 12? Comments, suggestions welcome from those who have been. We have been almost everywhere else, but not to this Rincon area.
Virginia Vail Jan 24, 2016 at 12:11 PM

I'm on for March 12 and would also like suggestions on what to take, how much cash, etc. I've read that they will accept dollars, but a couple of meals are in the beach town, at our choice of eateries, so I should probably take some colones.
Anna Osborn Jan 26, 2016 at 11:42 AM

You can use dollars almost everywhere in CR or credit cards. Just be sure the US paper money is in good condition. You will get change in colones. Remember to save dollars for your exit fee at the airport. I remember it as $28.
Anna Osborn Jan 26, 2016 at 12:11 PM

I am still looking for the altitude and temperature at night at Borinquen
Virginia Vail Jan 30, 2016 at 10:13 AM

I couldn't find that either, so I just emailed them.
Anna Osborn Feb 02, 2016 at 06:08 PM

Our guide? Are you reading, dear guide. Tell us about yourself. Monica Q is my good friend; I know it isn't Monica, but, if you know her, say HI for me.

Sherry Glazer Jan 07, 2016 at 05:23 PM

Anyone going to Costa Rica on Feb. 3? This is my first trip to Costa Rica, and my first Road Scholar trip.

Natalia Barrantes Jan 20, 2016 at 03:51 PM

Hi - My name is Daphne and I will be coming from New York City for Nov. 3-9. Is anyone else coming from JFK on the 3rd? Maybe we can look for one another and make that very tight connection in Atlanta!
Karen Buros Oct 27, 2015 at 06:17 AM

Hi Daphne, I'm Karen and will be on your flight from JFK on the 3rd. Very early flight!
