Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I am arriving into LaGuardia Sun Oct 5 @ 11am...anyone interested in sharing a cab to the hotel?

Kelly Hughes Jun 21, 2014 at 03:17 PM

I am attending Aug 10-15, would like to see the 911 museum, and the tenement museum. Arriving at JFK early, 10:35 AM. Would love to share a cab to the hotel

Kelly: How does a 1-hr guided tour of the 911 Museum on 8/13 sound to you? Perhaps buy a late afternoon ticket via the Web and travel from Bryant Park to the museum via the subway?
Kelly Hughes Jul 16, 2014 at 01:31 PM

I was thinking about going to the Tenement Museum that afternoon. Haven't really decided; all I have booked thus far is the shuttle to and from the airport. What time to you arrive on Sunday? Where are you from?
Sharon Flury Jul 18, 2014 at 04:17 PM

I will arrive at LaGuardia from Phoenix about 3 pm on the 10th and will be booking a shuttle to the hotel. I can understand your interest in the Tenement Museum with lots of interesting options.

I am attending the Aug 10-15 program and would like to attend the 911 Memorial Museum during a free afternoon and a Broadway play one evening with another RS participant. Please let me know if you are interested in one or both activities.

I have a single room because I prefer varying room temperatures. I look forward to a week with you both.
Mary Beth Bargielski Apr 03, 2014 at 07:29 AM

I tried for a single but there were none available.

Mary Beth Bargielski Apr 01, 2014 at 12:24 PM

Also attending program May 11-16. Looking for a quiet, nonsmoking roommate. (I have asthma). Thanks. MB
Babs Eggleston Apr 01, 2014 at 10:34 PM

Mary Beth, I, too, am looking for a roommate for the May program. I'm quiet, non-smoking, and try to avoid asthma attacks. This is my first RS trip and my first time in NYC. I'm 77 yrs old. I'll be arriving at Newark and won't get into the hotel until after 6:00 pm on Sunday. What info do you have to share? Babs Eggleston
Mary Beth Bargielski Apr 02, 2014 at 05:01 PM

Do you like a cool room to sleep in?
Babs Eggleston Apr 10, 2014 at 02:15 PM

Sorry, thought I'd responded. As long as I don't have to gt up to a cold room in the morning, cool is nice.
