Going on the May 3-14 tour and wondering about Pisa. Does anyone know if there will be an opportunity to climb the Tower? I know it's an extra 18 Euros but I won't be there again. I read that tickets can be hard to get. Anyone have any experience/advice with this? thx
Gerald Cutler Apr 09, 2015 at 09:19 PM

Got the following from Rick Steves' Italy book:
Gerald Cutler Apr 09, 2015 at 09:25 PM

Entry to Tower is by tied ticket good for 30- minute visit. Get ticket behind the tower on the left in the yellow building, or Museum of the Sinopias. May take hours of waiting unless at end of day Open till 10PM. On-line 45-15 days before visit at www.opapisa.it.

Ok, thank you. Hoping I can make it work!

Going a day early from SFO for an overnight in Pisa. Anyone on this KLM flight from SFO?

Our group seems to be silent except us. It appears they have not sold out our date. Looking forward to seeing you in Italy.

Anyone planning on taking advantage of the hiking opportunities on the May 3rd trip?
Jan Boyarzin Apr 09, 2015 at 08:00 PM

Hope to, depending on the length, difficulty and time ;-)
Kathie Vaughn Apr 22, 2015 at 11:23 AM

Also hoping to hike if not too difficult

Kenneth Nelson Jan 24, 2015 at 01:47 PM

Heading out to Pisa via KLM from SFO. Looks like an overnight hotel both ways. Any suggestions for other flights.
Gerald Cutler Feb 14, 2015 at 12:09 PM

No idea. We are leaving from Miami.
Kathie Vaughn Apr 22, 2015 at 11:24 AM

I'm leaving out of SFO at 630 am on May 3 - Delta flight

Gerald Cutler Jan 22, 2015 at 11:39 AM

We just signed up for May 3rd. departure and hope we won't be needing heavy coats.
Looks like a nice balanced trip with hiking opportunities. Anybody else going on this departure?
Donna Callahan Jan 22, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Plan on layers; boat ride can be chilly, as well as elevated areas. I was there in Sept and learned this. Across the street from hotel is private beach. Bring swimwear if so inclined. Every detail about this trip is top-notch and marvelous.

Kenneth Nelson Dec 12, 2014 at 01:40 PM

Why is everyone bundled up in coats on this boat? Isn't Italy warm mostly?

Just signed up for this trip for 9/27 - 10/8/15 and would love to chat with other registrants. This is Carole Kenyon and NOT Ralph Kline by the way. (We have one shared email and too complicated to add another email to the account.)
Ralph Kline Dec 12, 2014 at 05:13 PM

Oh Ken, see the shot you were talking about now. Carole Scotch Plains, NJ Dec.12, 2014
