For the September 10th trip, has anyone applied for visas yet?

Najad Tuffaha Alhusseini Jun 14, 2015 at 10:19 PM

We are on the Sept 10 tour. Will arrive in Beijing Sept 10, one day before the start. We live in Columbia, MD and depart from BWI via ORD.

We are leaving from Boston and arriving on September 11th. We are looking into the opera and other shows. The opera can be very long, I heard.
Nancy and Bob Slavkovsky Jun 15, 2015 at 02:12 PM

We are coming from Florida for the Sept 10 China trip. Although we usually do not eat as much food as our program will provide us, we can hardly wait to sample the regional food.
Najad Tuffaha Alhusseini Jun 27, 2015 at 08:03 PM

I hope we get the authentic local cooking not tourist trap restaurants.

With respect to the earthquake in Napal and related deaths in Tibet are there any issues we need to be aware of?
Nancy and Bob Slavkovsky Jun 03, 2015 at 07:44 PM

I just heard of a cruise ship sailing on the Yangtze River that sank...hope it wasn't one of the ships Road Scholar uses.
Najad Tuffaha Alhusseini Jun 14, 2015 at 10:23 PM

It was not Victoria Cruises, the Road Scholar cruise company.
Nancy and Bob Slavkovsky Jun 15, 2015 at 01:58 PM

Many of the news clips did not mention the name of the cruise line and I had to really look for the name of the line that sunk- Chongqing Eastern Shipping Corp.

Anyone going September 10th? We may want to take in some
Nightlife in Beijing and Shanghai besides what is offered. Any ideas?
Najad Tuffaha Alhusseini Jun 14, 2015 at 10:26 PM

We are on Sept 10. Beijing Classic Opera may be of interest. Carole and Najad.
Marilyn Luft Jun 15, 2015 at 09:16 PM

I just returned from the May/June trip. We arrived 2 days early in Beijing, so want to the opera, located right in the hotel. It was only an hour long and an interesterimg cultural experience. We also took a cab to Jingshan park which was beautiful. From there we took a cab to Silk Road to large shopping complex.

I'm a solo traveler on the April 23rd trip and would be interested in connecting with anyone else going on this trip. I live in the DC metro area.
Premium Email Subscriber Apr 06, 2015 at 05:43 PM

My husband and I live in DC and will be on that trip. This is only our second Road Scholar trip. Our first was in Bryce and Zion last fall. Is this your first trip to China?
Najad Tuffaha Alhusseini Jun 14, 2015 at 10:30 PM

We are going Sept 10 out of BWI. Any heads up you can give us about the program and arrival in Beijing? Carole and Najad
