I will be on the 10/14/15 trip. Are there any others signed up from Washington State?
Carol Horlacher Jul 01, 2015 at 12:33 AM

I meant to say the September 14-Oct 1 trip. Any one else?

William Walker May 26, 2015 at 04:44 PM

My wife, Teri, and I will be on the October 5-22 trip - our first visit to Ireland. Anybody else planning to be on that trip? Bill
Patti Daugherty May 27, 2015 at 12:14 AM

We leave June 1st - 18th for Coast to Coast Ireland trip. I will post our comments and experience regarding this trip.

Patti Daugherty May 04, 2015 at 12:07 AM

Thank you so much for that information, Bill. ¿¿

William Foster May 03, 2015 at 10:52 PM

Pat
For Ireland North to South, it can be cool and it can be rainy. We found that layers is the best strategy as well as rain gear. It doesn't get really cold so the layers provide insurance. Enjoy! Its is a great program.

This is our first RS trip Ireland Coast to Coast June 1st. Does anyone have advice on clothing for that type of year? It appears the weather is in the 60's and humid. We are accustomed to mountain semi-arid in AZ
Toni Belleranti May 04, 2015 at 12:42 AM

Patti, I live in Albuquerque and took this RS program two summers ago, in later June. It rained almost every day, and I wore a sweater or fleece under my waterproof hooded rain jacket. Since I am also used to a sunny dry climate, the layers of clothing were very necessary for comfort.
Patti Daugherty May 04, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Thank you for the comments. Our Prescott weather is similar to Albuquerque. I presume these are light rains. Well better go purchase some rain gear
Toni Belleranti May 04, 2015 at 12:18 PM

Some of the rains were light but some were really downpours. And thiese are not like the summer thunderstorms we get in the southwest. I saw very little sun in Ireland; what the people there consider partly cloudy we would consider overcast. And watch out for wet feet also. Waterproof, hooded long jacket or coat for sure.
Toni Belleranti May 04, 2015 at 12:21 PM

There is a reason Ireland has 40 shades of green! But it is a wonderful program and Ireland is beautiful.
Patti Daugherty May 04, 2015 at 12:35 PM

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your posts. It puts a whole different spin on what we are taking.
Toni Belleranti May 04, 2015 at 02:04 PM

The coasts (like at the Giant's Causeway and Cliffs of Mohrer) can be especially windy as well as rainy. When I bought my light fleece layer in Belfast, the clerk called it a "wee layer for a warm summer's day" (!!) It's all what we are used to I guess. But perhaps you will have more sun¿¿
Toni Belleranti May 04, 2015 at 02:16 PM

The coasts, such as at the Giant's Causeway and the Cliffs of Mohrer, can be especially windy also. An umbrella was not very useful in a group of people but a hooded waterproof rainjacket was. Perhaps you will have more sunny days!

Anyone going 10/16?

Dennis O'Keefe Mar 31, 2015 at 11:30 PM

How tied down are you to tours. For example if you are in Dublin can you just go on your own for a couple of hours.
TrainRyder "Barbara" Apr 09, 2015 at 01:47 AM

You can skip the planned agenda; and there is free time built into the schedule.
TrainRyder "Barbara" Apr 09, 2015 at 01:48 AM

p.s. I flew in early to do the time adjustment and a bit of touring on my own.

Marie Guillory Sep 14, 2014 at 05:05 PM

Looking for anyone traveling to Dublin early for the Oct 5-22 program in 2014.
Sharel Wallace Sep 15, 2014 at 04:28 PM

My husband Rich and I will be on the same program. It's time to get excited about our adventure.
Marie Guillory Oct 03, 2014 at 05:55 AM

See you soon, Sharel and Rich.
