How can we help Nepal and our guide Sanjay Nepal on our trip Oct 2014. Road Scholar create a fund and a way of getting to those in need

Cory Coons Apr 26, 2015 at 10:52 PM

Road Scholar: Please let us know if our September '14 tour guide, Sanjay Nepal and his family are alright. Our group also spent time with James Gambiano, the Mishra family and stayed at the Dhulikhel Mountain Resort. Please share any information.

ROAD SCHOLAR: Please let us know if our guides (mine was Binaya Rana) are okay. My heart is aching for the beautiful country of Nepal and the wonderful people who live there.
Karen Lewis Apr 26, 2015 at 11:02 PM

I too would like to know about Binaya. Please let us know when you know something.
Christine Place Apr 27, 2015 at 12:06 PM

Dear Everyone,
Christine Place Apr 27, 2015 at 12:08 PM

Dear Everyone, I have had an email from Binaya on Saturday. He and his wife are fine. He did not say much else which is understandable given the chaos.
Kathy Osmond Apr 27, 2015 at 12:24 PM

That's such a relief! Thank you for posting, and please let him know that he and his wife are in our thoughts.

I assume RS will post what they know as soon as information is available. Many trips will have to be altered or cancelled due to the devastation.

Nickie Apr 25, 2015 at 02:51 PM

Wondering if the Mountain Kingdom trip is doable now with so much earthquake destruction. We're scheduled for the Oct 11th trip.
Kayo Wicks Apr 25, 2015 at 06:23 PM

I'm supposed to go on May 31st. I can't imagine it will happen, but...
Nickie Apr 26, 2015 at 04:08 PM

Me, neither!
Karen Lewis Apr 26, 2015 at 11:03 PM

Road Scholar may adjust your schedule. Bhutan and Tibet are so worth seeing.

Kayo Wicks Mar 27, 2015 at 09:09 AM

I'm going on the May 31st trip. Anyone else?

Barbara Gallagher Mar 17, 2015 at 01:22 PM

I'm from Florida, age 73, I'm going on the April 12 trip. I'll be in LA on April 10 for the flight to Beijing. On our return trip I'd like to tour more of Beijing before we fly back to LAX. we have an 8 hour wait at the airport - anyone interested in exploring options for a tour?

This program sounds great, I want to go. Questions: What's a better time to go, June or September, in terms of weather? Also, I'm considering a single supplement, has anyone done that and did it work out well? Thank you, Anne
Laura Inscoe Mar 12, 2015 at 10:46 PM

I went last June. It was later than this year's trip and it was quite hot in Bangkok and Beijing, and somewhat hit in Kathmandu. I took advantage of the single supplement and was glad I did. Very nice rooms and it was nice to have that privacy. It's a fantastic trip!
