6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

any one have reading suggestions? looks like a great program, my wife Janie and I are looking foreword to the experience
Marylee McGregor Jan 09, 2014 at 09:46 AM

John, this is the first RoadScholar program I've attended where there weren't suggested readings. I've checked the catalogs of 2 public library systems in my area without success. Please post anything you find.
Marylee McGregor Jan 09, 2014 at 09:54 AM

PS from Marylee. The only book I know of is David Sinclair "The Land that Never Was" Sir Gregor MacGregor...". I read it some years ago, and would re-read the pertinent sections but my son has it buried in his book boxes. MacGregor is to be a subject of at least 1 lecture I believe.

Hello, perhaps you can contact the coordinator to find out. I would like to know, too.
Marylee McGregor Dec 22, 2013 at 08:54 AM

Good idea, Alice, but I've already contacted her about something else, so don't want to bother her again.

Pleased to receive the online information packet today. BUT, a bit disappointed that no reading suggestions. I always find that a way to learn more about an area, and maybe identify some authors I've not previously read.

I'm looking forward to this program. I am a history buff, especially black history.

Has anyone found out how far 15 blocks is on Amelia Island? I'm a bit concerned about the amount of walking.
