ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

April Program 2015: Would anyone like to share transportation from JFK to the hotel on Sunday, April 5? Arriving JFK at 3 pm.
Janice Horak Mar 07, 2015 at 11:01 AM

Alas, arriving at LGA 1:36 p.m. from Chicago.

Stefani McRae-Dickey Jan 24, 2015 at 06:06 PM

Is anyone else going to see Ernani on Wednesday, April 8?
Janice Horak Mar 07, 2015 at 11:04 AM

If I can get a ticket, I would consider it. I am staying on Fri for NYPhil and MetOpera Sat. afternoon.
Stefani McRae-Dickey Mar 28, 2015 at 01:39 PM

Sounds lovely. Wish I could stay longer, but schedule won't allow it.

Gale Pemberton Feb 26, 2014 at 01:07 PM

Will be doing this program in April. We were there last year, and the program was so good that we're doing it again.
Roberta Huebner Feb 26, 2014 at 09:54 PM

It was really great. I am still on a high.
Gale Pemberton Feb 27, 2014 at 08:13 AM

Glad you enjoyed it. We're in Hartwell, GA.
Roberta Huebner Feb 27, 2014 at 06:02 PM

We're practically neighbors! I hope you enjoy your trip. I have also done the Santa Fe Opera Extravaganza trip two years in a row and plan to go back this year. It's superb.

I am signed up for the Feb. 16 - 21 Ultimate Opera Program. Will be coming from Atlanta, Georgia, and would love to meet someone on this discussion board ahead of time. It's my first trip to NY.

Hello, I have signed up for the Jan 12-17 Ultimate Opera Program. I will be traveling from Washington, DC, probably by train, but haven't made travel arrangements yet. I would be glad to hear from anyone else on this program. This will be my third program with Road Scholar. Fay

Hello, I have signed up for the January 20 - 25 Ultimate Opera Program and will be travelling solo from Vancouver, BC. This will be my first Road Scholar trip and also first time in New York, so plan to arrive January 19 and leave January 27 to make the most of it. Have requested a double room for the RS Program so am looking for someone to share with me. Cheers. Lesley
Linda Dooley Nov 17, 2012 at 05:35 PM

My husband and I are coming too. I have done several Road Scholar trips and loved them but not in New York. See you there.
Lesley Dawson-Burns Nov 17, 2012 at 07:01 PM

Thank you, Linda. So good to have a response, and will look forward to seeing you both in the New Year. Lesley

Hi, I'll be traveling solo and am wondering if someone is interested in sharing a taxi from JFK to the hotel the morning of October 24?

This is my first Road Scholar program so I hope this question is an appropriate one. Thanks.
Anne Morris-Hooke Sep 25, 2012 at 11:30 AM

Hi Nancy, Yes, this is an appropriate question but I am afraid I cannot help you. We are doing the Nov 25 to 30 trip, so I will be VERY interested to hear how YOUR trip goes. Cheers, AMH
