Suzanne: My concern is that "Program" writes me one thing and "Travel" tells/writes me another.
Suzanne Dreyer Feb 25, 2014 at 04:39 PM

As soon as they will give you a copy of your E ticket you will be able to tell whether you transfer in Paris ( if you are on Air France) to a plane or a train. They should soon have your ticket done, usually 30 days prior. There are direct trains from Charles de Gualle airport to Strasbourg. The train depot is indcated by the code XWG and the airport is SXB. Call and ask what code your ticket shows. In case you are wondering, I am a travel agent.

I will be coming from New York City. Michael of the Travel Department says a majority of those with whom I will be travelling are coming from there.

According to the travel department the Frankfurt option is no longer available so we all are going Air France.
Suzanne Dreyer Feb 21, 2014 at 10:58 PM

And it will depend on where you come from whether there is a flight connection in Paris or a misconnect so you need to take a train. The travel dept should give you a schedule so you know what to expect.

Joan Gruen Feb 21, 2014 at 09:19 PM

The program summary says we'll be met at the Strasbourg airport and at the end we'll be taken from the barge to the airport but the travel department says we are to go to the train station.

Joan Gruen Feb 21, 2014 at 08:22 PM

There seems to be a difference between the travel department which says that we are all coming from Paris by train and the program department which says we will be met at the airport. Much confusion.
Suzanne Dreyer Feb 21, 2014 at 08:48 PM

I bieve some came by trainfromParis because they had stayed a few day there before. Many came by air vi Chicago through Frankfurt and by bus to Strasbourg which was included in the air ticket. We came non-stop to Frankfurt from SFO and by bus as did 2 others. We walked to the hotel from the bus/train stationas did others. I think it depends what you do before the program as to what you need to know.

Our 10/04 trip had pleasant surprises like wine and beer included with all meals, barge and restaurants. Deluxe food (more than enough),lovely new barge and just the right number of passengers with varied interests to be comfortable. Good experience.

A fun group on a great trip! Highly recommended.

Peter Griffin Sep 24, 2013 at 11:49 AM

We are on the 10/17 trip [leaving U.S. on 10/16] and are staying an extra night in Amsterdam on the way back [10/25] in order to make flight connections to Dulles.
Anyone else staying in Amsterdam 10/25?
