I am going by shuttle from Denver.

Patricia Fairfield Mar 03, 2014 at 06:47 PM

Ryan, I called the Christy Sports Location in town - they open at 8 a.m. Monday morning. Will I have enough time to get there and back before the group is ready to leave, or should I plan to rent skis at the mountain top location instead? Thank you.
Ryan Kirkpatrick Mar 04, 2014 at 12:50 PM

Hi Patricia, we meet on the mountain at 9:15 am ready to ski, so you should be able to make this work. You can take a free bus from in front of the hotel to the town Christy Sports Location. After you get your skis there you can get on the bus right outside the store and continue on to the mountain. There are lockers available to rent on the mountain if you need to store shoes, etc. Mike, the group leader, can help you more with these details once you are on-site. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us directly at info@mpills.org

Hello, can you tell me what are the transportation options from the Yampa airport to the Rabbit Ears motel? I assumed I would get a taxi, but I just want to be sure taxis and/or shuttle buses are available. Thank you.
William Bertschy Feb 27, 2014 at 01:09 PM

Hi Patricia, Just click on the "Travel Details" link on this page for the info.!

Hello, I just signed up for this program. I will need to rent equipment but will not arrive at the Yampa airport until 4:15 Sunday March 9. I noticed the program information says to arrange equipment rentals before 5 pm on Friday. Does anyone have information about rental options? Thank you.
Ryan Kirkpatrick Feb 17, 2014 at 12:07 PM

Hi Patricia, thanks for posting your question. We recommend that you have your equipment rented and fitted before the 5:00 PM orientation on Sunday. We recommend this to ensure that Monday morning you have a logistically smooth and easy start on the slopes. Because you arrive at 4:15 on Sunday, your best bet instead will be to reserve your gear in advance but then plan to take the free bus from the hotel to rental store early on Monday morning to get your gear before the group meets. You can see your information packet for a rental promo code. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us directly at info@mpills.org

Thanks Ryan, I will do that. I am looking forward to the program.

Hi--I'm flying into Denver: anyone taking either the Denver-Steamboat shuttle bus or the Denver-Yampa/Hayden shuttle flight? If so, did you book through RS or on your own? Thanks & looking forward!
Gene Newman Feb 24, 2014 at 05:46 PM

I booked the shuttle bus with GO Alpine. Several departures from Denver.. Earliest is Noon.. Book direct either on line or by phone. There is a senior discount if you qualify.
Carol Sherwood Jan 02, 2015 at 01:15 PM

What time did you book?

Hi. Anyone travelling from Aspen to Steamboat Springs? I have rented a car for travelling between the programs, If anyone wants to share the ride please contact me here. Cathy Abbott

Cathy Abbott Dec 20, 2013 at 05:51 AM

Thanks Ryan. I had also checked with Go Alpine. Seems a little expensive for one person. Was hoping to find a more reasonable shuttle service alternative before settling on the one way rental . Thanks again and see you soon.

Wondering if anyone has done the back to back trip from Aspen to Steamboat?. I have singed up for the first time and am looking for recommendations for traveling from Aspen to Steamboat. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you and looking forward to two great ski weeks!

Hi Cathy, I responded to this question on the discussion board of Program #15647, but in case you didn't see it I will also post it here: Hi Cathy, thanks for signing up to join us again! Last year if I remember correctly we had one person that flew to do those programs back-to-back, several who took a personal vehicle, and we had a couple people who did a one-way rental car. The best driving route is shown on this map here: http://goo.gl/maps/LsuXl As far as commercial shuttles, I contacted "Go Alpine" (1-970-879-2800, http://www.goalpine.com) and the only thing they offer for that itinerary is a "private car". That costs around $650 one-way and you can have up to 5 passengers carpool to split that cost.
