Road Scholar
Program #12312RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My wife, Marilyn and I, are attending this program, beginning September 28th and are looking forward to joining others who are enrolled. This is our fourth Road Scholar event and our third New England visit. We are from Lubbock, Texas and anxious to see autumn foliage in its full glory!

Look forward to meeting you. Travelling from Alabama. Anticipating 2nd RS trip and the privilege to experience the beauty of New England.

Watching the spectacular weather forecast for this upcoming trip. We're coming in
Friday for a day of sightseeing on Saturday til we meet up with the September 21 program.

I am attending this program on Aug 17 and look forward to meeting everyone this Sunday.

My mother, Mary Smith, and I will be attending the 21 Sept programme. We'll be arriving in Providence just before noon. Will anyone else be there to share a shuttle?
Sheila Bracken Aug 21, 2014 at 10:57 AM

Hi Sheila...My friend, Marsha Smith and I are also attending the September 21 program. We're coming in 2 days early so we can do some sightseeing before the program starts. We want to tour some of the mansions and do a harbor tour. My name is also Sheila (not many of us around), so between Marsha's last name and my first name, we'll be sure to get everyone confused! LOL. Looking forward to meeting you and your mother.

I must start the 17 August program a bit late. If anyone wants to share a taxi from the Kingston train station after an 8:05 PM arrival on the 17th, let me know. Also, sadly, I must leave early on 23 August. If anyone wants to share costs on the way to Lake George, we could!

Looking forward to a fantastic adventure!

I have signed up for this program. I live in Utah and am thinking of driving to and from the area to enjoy the country's colors and sites. Any suggestions, aside from flying? I have thought about taking the train. Again, hope to meet new people. This is my first Road Scholar event.
Bobbe Dabling Aug 11, 2014 at 02:14 PM

I will be attending the Sept. 14-21 session. Anyone else?
Pat Hackeny Aug 13, 2014 at 01:58 PM

Hi Bobbe. My friend Agnes and I will be attending this session from Lexington, KY. She has been on seveal Road Scholar trips but this is my first. Looking forward to meeting you. Pat

This is my third Road Scholar trip. I have thoroughly enjoyed the others! You will probably be happy to turn over the logistics to the group leader and relax if you drive all the way from Utah. Look forward to meeting you.

If anyone else who is going on this tour starting August 17th would like to share a taxi from the Kingston Amtrak station to the Newport hotel (or if anyone is driving and could easily pick me up from that station anytime after 1:10, when my train is due to arrive), please let me know. Thank you.
Mary Lou Cassingham Jul 18, 2014 at 12:40 PM

Sorry, we are flying space available. Don't know arrival time. See you there!
