Program #11009RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Road scholar mentions a shuttle that goes from the airport to the hotel in Santa Fe.

Delores Bogenrief Mar 19, 2014 at 11:46 AM

I have some things going on now. Will contact you next week. I'm concerned about getting from Albuquerque airport to our destination. Train or Car?

Easy drive, helps you acclimatise to altitude.

Maxine Nagel Mar 18, 2014 at 08:19 PM

Have you booked the trip yet? I am really interested in going.

Delores Bogenrief Mar 18, 2014 at 12:05 PM

I meant to write - the May 18th trip.

I am considering going alone on this trip April 27 or May 19
Is anyone else going solo?
Maxine

My solo experience in May 2012 was terrific! I flew into Albuquerque from Toronto, Canada, rented a car, took the main highway to Santa Fe which also helped me get used to the altitude. Used car during the trip on free evenings to drive a group of ladies out to dinner...lots of giggling! Seniors rock! Then after terrific RS experience, I drove the back roads and ended up at a Memorial Day celebration in Madrid (a surprise to a Canadian!) where I wandered the kiosks, got ice cream and danced in the one street. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and was glad I book-ended it with some "down" time. As an artist, Canyon Road in SF was overwhelming. Hmmmmm, maybe revisit this trip in 2015, cpwdesigns@rogers.com in Canada, 'eh for any ?s

I'm interested in attending the program when the weather is warm...in the 70's. When would be a good time?

Diane Collier Feb 14, 2014 at 09:20 PM

Any one else coming in Saturday (2-22) early afternoon for the Santa Fe Taos program and want to share a ride to the hotel?

Chris & Sherrell Waddle Nov 25, 2013 at 09:36 AM

Are we alone on this trip? Not seeing any discussion.
Marsha Stanton Dec 19, 2013 at 02:49 PM

Hi Chris and Sherrell - I will be driving in from Sunnyvale CA so you are not alone in hoping we have warmer weather. But warmer usually means cloudy. Clear is cold in the desert. I will be checking a week ahead on the road conditions. You take the high road and I'll take the low road? Meet you in Sante Fe.
Chris & Sherrell Waddle Dec 20, 2013 at 03:56 PM

Clear also means greater pilot visibility on our Delta "high road" flight from Atlanta, Marsha. Never mind which of us gets there first, let us all have safe travels. Because we can always bundle up or else shed layers as needed. All the best and seeya there!
Marsha Stanton Dec 20, 2013 at 05:55 PM

I flew Delta from the UK to Atlanta in Sept and was pleased with the Delta experience. But, I wore a Raider bandana through Customs a caught alot of Falcon fan flak ; ) Merry Christmas!
Chris & Sherrell Waddle Dec 21, 2013 at 11:13 AM

Actually, Marsha, we're SEC folk. BTW could you scarf up some free Pasadena tickets for the championship game next month? Here they cost more than your Delta ticket from the Queen's own country. Cheers for Christmas and beyond!
Marsha Stanton Dec 21, 2013 at 04:14 PM

LOL Cheers for Christmas ...and the Crimson Tide.
