Road Scholar
Program #1183RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hi - We're attending the 2014 Sept 7-12 program. We're planning visits to:
* Getty Villa Sunday Sept 7, returning in time for the orientation
* Weisman Foundation Friday Sept 12, afternoon.
If you want to share a taxi to either location, please let me know.
I have not gotten tickets to either museum yet but plan to soon.

To Road Scholars attending this program June 1-6: I'm planning to leave the Getty early on Tuesday afternoon in order to visit the Weisman Art Foundation in nearby Bel Air. If anyone's interested in joining me, we can share a cab. You'll need to contact the WAF by phone for reservations. You can find their number on their website. Look forward to seeing everyone soon.

I would love to chat with anyone going to the Art Collectors program on 2/16/14. I am coming from NY and will arrive the afternoon of 2/15/14. Have you explored the calendar for a concert at Disney Hall? This is my first trip to LA. Have you been? Leona, are you going on the 2/16 trip? If yes I might be interested in joining you on the free afternoon to cab to the Weisman Foundation.

I am booked for the 2/16 tour. Anyone interested in 2/20 Tchaikovsky concert at 8 P.M. at Disney Hall?

Is anyone interested in "playing hooky " one morning or the free afternoon to share a cab to Weisman Foundation. I have been told it is superb.

The Huntington's Tea Room is very busy. Reservations are recommended.

I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow art enthusiasts. I like seeing how the arhitecture works for the collections, especially like seeing works up close. I'm from St.Louis, MO

Betty Brennan: I wanted to visit the Getty villa on a bus trip from LA to San Francisco but that is not possible without a car. I also want to see the museums of LA but not until Feb. or later. Would love to share the costs of the extra. I would suggest adding the villa to the end of the LA trip as there are so many tours there you/we may wish to stay an extra day. Yes we are going to add on the extra day and try to get a tour up to the villa. I just booked the 4/14 session. I am looking into either renting a car for the day or tours. My husband and I will be flying in from Seattle so -- hoping for sunshine.

Betty: I'd be interested in sharing the cost of a car rental to the Getty Villa. I haven't found any tours. Have you looked at the website for the Villa? There is no charge for entry, but it's necessary to reserve a specific date and time online. Sandy MacDonald, Ottawa, Ontario
