On Sunday Feb. 2, 2015 the Travel section of the Chicago Tribune wrote about a new mosquito-borne virus called CHIKUNGUNYA that is prevalent in Puerto Rico, and there is no vaccine. What is Road Scholar' position on this?

Will go to the hotel, store the suitcase, and walk around until check in. Anyone else arriving early Sunday? Would love to hear from fellow participants.

Anyone going from the MD area? Any need for more than sundresses and shorts? Any other singles to walk around with? I love these trips!
Susan Allen Nov 01, 2014 at 03:58 PM

Hi, Shirl - I'm single, too. See the note below re weather - it may rain. Flying from Kansas City to Houston, arriving in PR at 4:55 p.m. Sunday. Wondering if you or others are arriving about then, to share a taxi. See you tomorrow evening!

Looking forward to Puerto Rico Nov. 2-9. Would love to hear from others going on this program. Is anyone flying out of Atlanta the morning of Nov. 2?
Susan Allen Nov 01, 2014 at 03:59 PM

Susan --my husband and I went last November and had a marvelous time. It is warm and humid, and we did get rain showers in the evenings, especially in Ponce, and in the Rain Forest too. So a lightweight rain poncho or jacket is a must.

This was a fabulous trip made more so by Alberto, the tour guide extraordinaire!

Thanks so much - I guess I didn't thank you for your message back in May!! This is helpful. I'm getting ready now for a trip to Quebec City!
