I am thinking of the April trip, this would be my first cruise as a single. Any other single's ?
Pat Highet Jun 28, 2014 at 02:39 PM

I enrolled as a single (I'm a "senior" woman). After telling friends about this trip, good friend, Linda, also enrolled as a single.
Pauline S Jul 04, 2014 at 08:53 PM

Hi Pat, thanks for reply. I'm waiting to see if flights from Toronto are included. Good to know I wouldn't be the only single woman.

Thinking about the April trip. Does anyone one the cabin type & deck for the posted price?
Nancy Jones Jul 01, 2014 at 01:35 PM

I used this website in conjunction with voyagestoantiquity.com. RS will not give you the exact cabin, but you can see options.

Ive just enrolled for the April 2015 trip. Eagerly looking forward -- it's "only" 11 months away. For starters, I'll re-read that wonderful book, "Birds without Wings." Pat (Patricia, not Patrick)

My husband and I have been stockpiling and yes, even reading as we have time, several of the recommended books. Has anyone else found any especially helpful? I'm planning to attend the September trip and hopeful to get feedback from the April group (and maybe groups from previous years?) between now and then. Thanks!

I was on this ship a few years ago and thought it was terriic.
Great crew, good food and just a perfect size. I recommend it.

Donell Kelly Dec 30, 2013 at 12:08 AM

Has anyone had any experience with this particular ship? I'd like more information.
Toni Belleranti Jan 06, 2014 at 09:51 PM

I was on this ship's 2nd voyage in its role as Voyage to Antiquity ship, in 2010. It had been rebuilt to serve as a small size passenger cruise ship by a British company. During the introductory year the prices were quite low, much less than now. There were a few snags and bumps to work out that maiden year, but I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the Road Scholar group leader helped us over any rough spots.
Toni Belleranti Jan 06, 2014 at 09:57 PM

Even at the higher prices (airfare has risen as has everything else since 2010)I considering booking another cruise. Single supplements are low, the rooms are rather small but adequate, food is okay and plentiful. But don't compare it to a big ocean liner with Las Vegas style entertainment, casinos and endless buffets. I actually prefer this smaller, more intimate ship with a historical focus. There's also a library with many books pertaining to the areas visited.
