14 Days | 13 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We will be doing this trip in September, 2014. If there is anyone else from CT or Western Mass, perhaps we could get a limo to Boston or New York. The alternative is leaving a car at the airport ($$$) or connecting from Hrtfd (time consuming & $$).

We had Violeta as our guide in June 2012. She is fantastic - so much knowledge. She found tickets for us (our group) to a special concert in an art museum that was now on the agenda - a free evening. You will like her. She's a former professor or teacher.

Thanks, Susan. Good to know. We've found RS tour staff almost uniformly outstanding.

Hello fellow travelers on the July 2 departure. I spoke with Susan this morning and she shared the emergency contact information with me: Keera Nekrasova, +7-905-783-5209. Our group leader is Violeta Alexeyeva +7-915-164-0993. See all of you in St. Petersburg!

You will LOVE Violetta! She was out guide last year and she's terrific. Enjoy!

Just spoke to a lady named Ellen (at 800 454-5768) who checked and acknowledged that the corrected version has not been sent; said she would look into this. S immediately. I suggested everyone be sent an email explaining the situation and what was being done to correct it. Subsequently, I received a call from Lana Rogers at ETC, to whom IU had sent a detailed email earlier. She knows what needs to be done and I asked her to post the final pdf online asap.

Thank you Walter, however, the "final" pdf on the site does not include bios nor emergency contact information. I tried that first.

Walter Gray Jun 19, 2014 at 07:51 AM

Barbara, you can download the "final" Final Info pkg or call Road Scholar and ask them to send you the hard copy. I had a little difficulty getting this sorted out with them and when I asked if all program participants would be mailed the latest package, the response was at best equivocal. I think the best number to call is 877-426-8056. (Sorry about the blank message left below. Accidentally hit the "post" button.)

Barbara Howard Jun 19, 2014 at 07:04 AM

I still have not received the revised final package with bios and emergency contact information.

My husband and I did this trip in June of 2012 and I never encountered a situation where I needed a skirt or a head cover. Most if not all of the women wore capris or long pants (nothing above the knee) and I don't recall the use of a head scarf although it is easy enough to put one in your pocket. Many of what were churches are now museums.
