See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This is a fantastic trip (April-May, 2014). We experienced the Grand Canyon in ways we never would have on our own and learned about it in ways that helped us truly appreciate and love what we were seeing. Hiking with experienced, knowledgeable guides with a deep love for the Grand Canyon, and a great group of fellow hikers made all the difference. With less hiking experience than many, the leaders and others helped us gain confidence and skills. Get good quality hiking poles, boots and clothing. Walk hills and do cardio to prepare. Loved having binoculars.

Hi, a friend and I will be on the April 28th trip. Our 1st trip with Roadscholar.
Would like to here from others on this trip or those who have done it before. Liz

If the trails are icy, we will have crampons for you on the March 3 program. They work amazingly well.

Is anyone in the 10/24 - 10/29/10 program interested in sharing a rental car to go from Phoenix to Grand Canyon? I also want to tour other nearby scenic areas for 2 or 3 days AFTER the program using a rental car. Is anyone interested in this? Please e-mail me at: or call (206)523-8508.. ..Sue L
