I am single traveler. Any ideas about reserving dinner with other(s) in the group at one of the special restaurants?
Radley Smith Nov 29, 2015 at 01:28 PM

My husband and I would be interested in eating at Prego, the Italian restaurant. We are not too keen on the formal dining, so perhaps one of those nights would be a good night to reserve at Prego. Sandy and Rad Smith

So,strange!Anyone to be to our side?please write to pastkabange@hotmail.com

Does anyone know if there is an alternate dinning venue available on a formal night where one (join me!) could have a quicker more casual experience?

Radley Smith Oct 04, 2015 at 03:38 PM

I read "The Path between the Seas" by David McCullough and found it very interesting although rather long. But it sure does give a complete history of the building of the canal - from start to finish.

I was also wondering about whether people in the Road Scholar group would like to team up to reserve vans for some of the Crystal Cruises shore excursions. It seems like hiring cars or vans is the main way to tour the places where Road Scholar does not have its own tours. Does anyone know more about the Crystal Cruises shore excursions? I have never sailed with them before. Sandy Smith

The ship has an excellent selection of excursions from very easy to very active. Well escorted by there staff and local guides. I took this trip several years ago with road scholar and then went on to take several other crystal cruises. I found it to be the best cruise line and I've done a number of cruises through roadscholar and on my own.

My husband and I are also less than excited about having to bring "formal clothes". I'm hoping that a simple long skirt and nice blouse for me and a business suit and tie for him will be OK.
Helen Sternheim Oct 04, 2015 at 04:42 PM

I am sure that will work. My husband and I wore something similar on a Grand Circle trip to Alaska that was part land and part cruise.

RuthAnn Wilson Sep 28, 2015 at 11:44 AM

We (Pam and I) have just finished reading the David McCullough. Like Charlotte said, we am interested in the later years as well.

RuthAnn Wilson Sep 28, 2015 at 11:40 AM

I have not worn formal clothes since I retired 15 years ago! Wondering "how formal" this needs to be?
