Thanks for your reply Barbara Bertram re the train. After being on hold for 25 minutes Road Scholar assuree me that no one will meet me in Paris. Oh well. Good try. If I miss the 10;30 train then I'll see you on the 12:30 ! I' looking forward to the whole adventure

Heather, I went on this program last fall. I traveled from Strasberg to Paris. My bag was checked in Strasberg and I didn't see it again until I arrived in Los Angeles. I presume that you will see your bag when you arrive in Strasberg. Don't worry about connections to the train, the train station is located in the airport.

Hi Bertrams ! I'm coming on the same trip and starting to get geared up for a good time. I fly out of Detroit and am a little uneasy about catching the train from Paris to Strasberg What train are you taking ? Mine leaves Paris at 10:26 AM. Heather
Barbara Bertram Apr 10, 2015 at 12:03 PM

Hi Heather! Our train leaves Paris for Strasbourg later than that-- around 12:30. According to our RS travel agent, there will be someone there to greet arriving RS participants and get us on the train. Did you use RS to make your travel arrangements? If so, my guess is there will be someone there to help you too. Give them a call if you are worried about it. We look forward to meeting you and the others in Strasbourg!

My husband Lanny and I are enrolled in the June 26 program. We will be joining my sister and brother-in-law, but are looking forward to meeting the others on this trip. Anyone else going and leaving out of Chicago? We drive up from central Indiana to catch the flight, and always let Road Scholar make the flight arrangements. If not, we'll see you in Strasbourg! I went last year. Fabulous program. I liked this part of France and Germany so much that I could live there. The boat was very comfortable, the people were nice. Couldn't have been better.

Hi Joan,
How many people were on your program?
I love to look at old castles so I'll make the effort to climb up as high as I can.
Joan Buchman Jul 02, 2014 at 07:25 PM

Richard, we had 23 people in our program.
Richard Klink Jul 03, 2014 at 01:26 PM

Thanks, that's a good number. I just returned from a RS program in Sicily and we had 28, also a good number.

Richard Klink Jul 01, 2014 at 09:23 PM

Hi Silvana and Joan,
I'm going on this program in Sep/Oct and looking forward to it. I like the part of a slow paced river cruise. Is the land part difficult? Is there a lot of climbing up to castles, etc.?
Joan Buchman Jul 01, 2014 at 10:35 PM

Richard, there is a lot of walking throughout Strasbourg and Paris. There are a lot of steps at the Medieval castle. One or two of our people may have stayed at the bottom. But that castle was so fantastic.
Joan Buchman Jul 01, 2014 at 10:40 PM

Richard or Silvana, you may email me direct if you wish. joan.buchman@gmail.com

Silvana Miller Jul 01, 2014 at 06:00 PM

Hi, I am from Glen Allen, VA and will be going on my first RS trip in Sept. For those who went in June, please address what you like best about the trip.
Joan Buchman Jul 01, 2014 at 06:20 PM

Silvana, I liked the river cruise part of the trip the best. We were going at a slower pace. The ride is so smooth, with beautiful scenery everywhere. If you are not sharing a cabin, you have the same size cabin as a couple.
Joan Buchman Jul 01, 2014 at 06:24 PM

I meant to add that you should have the same Tour Director, Karin, as we had. She is terrific!

Richard Klink Jun 03, 2014 at 04:41 PM

I'm from Pasadena, CA. I'm going on this program in Sep-Oct. I'll be hoping to hear from those folks who have already done the program. I'm looking forward to it.
Joan Buchman Jun 23, 2014 at 11:41 PM

Richard, if you have specific questions, post them and I or one of the other participants can answer.

Hi fellow travelers! I'm from San Diego and excited about this tour coming up very quickly. I'm going over a couple of days early, staying at the Best Western Monopole Metropole, which is a block or two from our tour hotel, to get over some of the jet lag. Anyone else coming in early? I look forward to meeting everyone on June 8.

Hi Joan, we arrived a few days early too and still working through the jet lag. Jane and I are at the tour hotel. If convenient we could meet you for coffee or tea tomorrow (Friday). I think we'll be done with the lag by then. David Field Olympia WA.
