6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My 9 (almost 10) year old grandson are going on this trip July 20-25. Any other boys his age going? We coming from New England and are really excited about doing this trip together. The first time I've done one of these. It sounds great.

I posted on your comment but am not sure it came through?

My husband and I took our 10 yr old grandson on this trip last summer and all enjoyed it thoroughly. The coordinator, Carol, was great and made things go very smoothly. Our grandson enjoyed all the activities--it would be hard to single out what he liked most. He loved the pools at the motel, especially the one with the waterfall. Our group was about evenly split with boys and girls so it was balanced. I think you'll have a very good experience.

The night at the aquarium seems to be the draw. My grandson, Aiden, 11 yrs old, and I will be driving from Cleveland, OH to attend this program.

Thanks for all the comments. This looks like a great program and I'm encourage that you all have answered. We're from LaGrange, Ky (near Louisville) & my husband and I will both be attending.

We are attending the Chattanooga program July 14-19 and will be bringing a 10 year old grandson. Anyone else going to that one?
Sara Newberry Jun 13, 2013 at 08:57 PM

We are also attending the July 14 to 19 program and bringing our 12 year old granddaughter. She is looking forward to the program and spending the night at the aquarium. We are from Concord, NC.

Grandson Danny, 10, & I, both from outside Milwaukee, will meet you all on July 14.
