The weather was very pleasant. Some of our lunches were outdoors. Did it rain on us at all? I think only on the day we transferred from Tuscany to Umbria. George

Thanks for your reply!

I am considering this trip 5/1-5/12/16. If you took this trip in May, how was the weather? Cold? Rainy? or pleasant?

This is a response to someone who asked about the kind of climbing involved.'

The only response is yours. I would suggest you call Road Scholar and ask. I expect there are at least some steep trails to climb, but there may be an option for those who can't make that kind of trail to stay on the bus (that was the case on The Camino trip.)

My sisters and I did the Tuscany trip Sept. 2014. None of us are hikers; more like active city walkers. We hiked in woods and olive groves, and on roads to walled cities. Only one hike was very challenging including hills and many stairs. A couple of us stayed behind on one or two trips sipping coffee at local cafes where the bus was waiting for the real hikers. It was well worth the exhaustion!

Thanks so much for your input. I think I can so the walk but wanted info from someone who had been on it I really appreciate your comments. Also your comments should be useful to the person who wrote me directly.

My husband and I are considering this trip in Oct 2016. Last Oct. we went on the RS trip on the Camino in Spain. Is there anyone who has been on this trip who has also been on the Camino trip. I would like a comparison of the steepness, length/difficulty of the walking. I trained for the Camino and had no problems, but would love an idea of how they compare.

Anyone going on the hiking trip in Tuscany May 11-21? We will be doing that and then the Sicily hiking trip May 23-June 4 Please respond if you'll be on either. Thanks, Jane

I'd like to talk with someone else who will be on this program in May 2015
Jane Washington Apr 14, 2015 at 07:29 PM

Darn, this Jane is leaving to hike Cinque Terre on Monday.

Jane Washington Jan 14, 2015 at 02:42 AM

Anyone else going on the April 9, 2015 trip? I'm traveling from Utah via Atlanta.

Carol Marcus Aug 31, 2014 at 09:29 AM

My husband and I are taking the trip. This will be our 6th RS Trip. We will spend a few days in Rome and Pompeii before meeting the group at the Rome Airport on Oct. 12.
Generally, RS will assign roommates from those traveling as singles.

Sounds great, look forward to meeting you both!
