I am interested in taking this tour, but have difficulty walking fast/long distances due to COPD. Can someone who has taken this tour advise me as to how much walking is involved and if I would have other options than walking if it looks too strenuous for me? Thanks. Alice
James Beneteau Mar 16, 2014 at 03:06 PM

It's been 3 years since I went so may be a bit different. Every day involved some walking but parts were easily optional. Only two walks that I recall being slightly more strenuous - at the Bronte village and at Loch Lomond - and there were attactive alternatves to those hikes. Oxford was a little difficult because of large crowds and the special guide there (not the general tour guide) didn't pay e..nough attention to making sure the group was able to stay together. Depends on how severe your COPD is, I guess. We had someone in our group with slight problem who kept up but one with hip problem who changed tours.

Thanks, James, I appreciate your comments. It is definitely a trip I am interested in taking.

Anyone going on the July 8th tour? I'm traveling single from Portland,OR with a stop over in Newark. Would love to connect with others going on this trip.

No idea! Check with your leaders when u arrive.

Sondra Rothberg Apr 25, 2013 at 05:31 PM

Probably you will need to skip dinner with group. Unless they've changed schedule from my trip.
William Morgan Apr 25, 2013 at 06:26 PM

Thanks. What time should we expect to be back at the hotel from that day's excursion?

William Morgan Apr 25, 2013 at 05:09 PM

My wife and I are enrolled in the trip starting June 3rd. The evening of June 6th is free and we wonder if attending a play that evening is feasible? Does anyone have an opinion or experience from previous trips? Thanks
