EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Who is considering a side trip to the Blue Grotto? Rosalyn
Donna Callahan Mar 03, 2015 at 09:43 AM

I enjoyed this trip several years ago; it was top-notch. Listen to what your tour director, Jan, has to say about side trips like the Blue Grotto!!

I agree with Carolyn. We spent 3 days in Naples after our trip and had a wonderful time. Naples has an outdated bad reputation but is very nice now. We stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Decumani which is reasonably priced, very convenient to the historical heart of the city and just a block away from Via Tribunali, which has the best pizza restaurants in the world. Hotel Palazzo Decumani is very highly rated in Trip Advisor and highly recommended.

Consider 3 days in Naples at the beginning or end of your trip. We used a tour guide and highly recommend her! Go to her website, www.napolinostrssitenerari.com Stay at a hotel in the Chiaia district, a quiet area. You will have to pay a bit more for your plane fare which RS can arrange. Naples is my favorite city in Italy! We are New Yorkers and if you are street smart, you won't have any problems. It is a walking city. So much art. Enjoy this greco-roman city. Get a Naples Guidebook and read it before you go!

We're going on the Sept. 30th trip but will spend 3 days in Naples before joining the group. Anyone else going to be in Naples early?

Hi Carolyn, i'm considering this trip for next year. The only thing that's stopping me is that I've never heard anything good about Naples. What was your impression of the city?
Carolyn Villamil Oct 26, 2014 at 04:34 PM

We loved it. So sorry we didn't stay longer. Stay in the Chiaia area. Hire a private guide for a walking tour of the old city.
