Road Scholar
Program #19446RJ
18 Days | 17 Nights
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

How tied down are you to tours. For example if you are in Dublin can you just go on your own for a couple of hours.
TrainRyder "Barbara" Apr 09, 2015 at 01:47 AM

You can skip the planned agenda; and there is free time built into the schedule.
TrainRyder "Barbara" Apr 09, 2015 at 01:48 AM

p.s. I flew in early to do the time adjustment and a bit of touring on my own.

Marie Guillory Sep 14, 2014 at 05:05 PM

Looking for anyone traveling to Dublin early for the Oct 5-22 program in 2014.
Sharel Wallace Sep 15, 2014 at 04:28 PM

My husband Rich and I will be on the same program. It's time to get excited about our adventure.
Marie Guillory Oct 03, 2014 at 05:55 AM

See you soon, Sharel and Rich.

Is anyone going on the 8/21 through 9/4 trip? I'm starting to get organized. Those of us from California look forward to seeing a rainbow. With no rain here, there are no rainbows.
Leslie Wolf Jul 25, 2014 at 01:33 AM

It never rains in Ireland either....

Marlene Cordes May 27, 2014 at 01:32 PM

Arriving about 7 am on the 2nd -- anyone know where in Terminal 2 we're to meet??
JoAnn Dubrouillet May 27, 2014 at 07:10 PM

I called Road Scholar with the question & was told that we would see someone with the Road Scholar signs after we pass through immigration.
JoAnn Dubrouillet May 27, 2014 at 07:12 PM

Look forward to meeting you.
Marlene Cordes May 28, 2014 at 04:13 PM

Thanks for the comment about meeting point--I'm starting to get excited about this trip. I live in PHX, AZ and it's 107 yesterday and today.....a little rain will be wonderful!
JoAnn Dubrouillet May 28, 2014 at 05:55 PM

It's around 90 with lots of humidity here in Panama City Beach FL where I live. We may both think we've gone back to winter when we get to Ireland!

JoAnn Dubrouillet May 06, 2014 at 09:35 PM

Anyone going on the June 1-18 trip? I'll be arriving in Dublin at 8:45 a.m. on the 2nd coming from Atlanta on Delta. This is my 2nd RS trip.

TrainRyder "Barbara" Mar 22, 2014 at 11:58 PM

I'm arriving on the 30th and leaving a couple of days after the scheduled trip. Is anyone else spending extra days?
Cheryl Rieniets Mar 26, 2014 at 03:01 PM

My travel companion and I are not planning extra days. We are also 1st timers! See you there!

TrainRyder "Barbara" Mar 21, 2014 at 11:46 PM

Hello, I'm a newbie to road Scholar. the trip to Ireland will be my first.
Toni Belleranti Mar 22, 2014 at 12:02 AM

You are in for a treat. Great program; even if the weather becomes damp (quite likely) the summer days are very long:)

Toni Belleranti Mar 07, 2014 at 10:05 PM

And also, as is suggested in the Road Scholar program guides, keep photocopies of your passport and important documents/cards in another location in your luggage. I made sure I had a copy in my checked luggage as well as with me (but not in my purse-bag, under clothing) on the flights. I was amazed to see some travellers with wallets stuffed with cards: I also left at home everything I would not need, keeping minimal but needed documents.
Have a wonderful time!!
