ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

FYI, I called the parking place across from the hotel (Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre). Dale told me that their rates are 14.50 per day on weekdays and 4.00 per day on weekends. No reservation required. There's more information at http://www.cdha.nshealth.ca/patients-clients-visitors/parking

Hi Anne, Sorry for the confusion. I didn't really mean unpaved roads; only that the construction of the statue at Green Cove hasn't begun. ;-)

Hello Alan
It's nice to know that participants are checking out what is happening in the area that their program travels, before arrival in Nova Scotia!
I am the Group Leader for your program, and have just traveled that particular area less than 2 weeks ago with my last group. Although there are some concerns about the whole statue concept, it will not affect our journey around the Cabot Trail whatsoever. Our trip has totally paved roads, and although we pass by Neils' Harbour on our way to Ingonish, we do not have to go on any un-paved roads.
By the way, I have just heard that the moose have recently been calving, so perhaps we can see some of them alongside the roadway!
Looking forward to meeting you!
Warm regards
Anne

Hello all. Take a look at http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/26/mother-canada-statue-nova-scotia-stephen-harper. Green Cove will still be unpaved for our trip. ;-)

Hello
I am the Group Leader for your program. If you look on Page 8 of the Preparation Materials that were sent to you about a month ago, there are some options listed for long term parking. Generally, parking is not permitted at the Atlantica Hotel for the duration of your program. But, across the street is the Halifax Hospital, and their parking lot has long term rates available. There is also a telephone number for you to contact them.
I look forward to having all 36 participants with me on this, our first trip of the 2015 season.
Warmly
Anne Matheson

We are arriving by car in Halifax for the trip scheduled to begin September 9th. Is there a place you can leave the car for the 10 days we will be travelling?

I will be doing my first Road Scholar trip, going to the Canadian Maritimes on June 10, 2015. Anyone else planning to be there?
Anne L Matheson May 21, 2015 at 11:57 AM

Hello Lorraine, I am the GL for your trip. There are 33 other people registered for this program. I will look forward to meeting you in Halifax! Have a safe trip.

I had Road Scholar make my flight arrangements and I arrive the morning of 9/10. Where do I meet up with my transportation to our hotel?
Jerry Hardy Aug 28, 2014 at 04:06 PM

Just got my answer in today's mail!
