Bringing my own helmet doesn't bother me. In fact, I prefer it. What gripes me is the prohibition of a mirror. Yes, turning your head does warn motorists of possible changes of course, but I want to know what's behind me at all times. I can check on that without constantly turning my head and taking my main focus of attention away from what is in front of me. And I always turn my head when making a turn anyway. I think a mirror should be optional. Hell, I'll sign any releases Road Scholar wants.

After the program is over, I'll be spending a week in Dingle Town. Have already reserved a bike there. I'll be using it and the buses for transportation. The rent-a-car outfits discriminate against geezers over 75. Just hope they send any expected rain to California to compensate for the injustice.

I went to get a type G adapter plug for iphone and camera and there was no such thing. I got a Voyage Valet D type plug. Any reason this will not work?
Helen Sternheim Jun 29, 2014 at 08:18 AM

At walmart and other stores with travel departments you can buy a kit with plugs and a transformer for many countries. Then you can use your USA phone or Camera charger using the correct converter plug for Ireland. If your US plugs say 120/200 volts you do not need a transformer. AAA may also have what you want.
Helen Sternheim Jun 29, 2014 at 08:21 AM

Staples may also carry adapter plugs

I am thinking about joining the group in Shannon after arriving in Manchester, England. I will be riding bike to Colchester to complete some genealogy research. Afterward, my plan is to take the ferry across to Dublin and meet up in Shannon. Would like to discuss this with someone.

Richard Zick Aug 16, 2013 at 07:58 AM

what if one bike the other does not

Amy Brewster Jul 13, 2013 at 01:11 PM

We are waiting in san fran for a 1 hour delayed flight to Chicago. We might not catch our connecting flight to Shannon if it's delayed further

Amy Brewster Jul 11, 2013 at 09:59 AM

So, this bike company doesn't provide helmets with the bikes???? Really bizarre!

Carole Konesky Jul 01, 2013 at 12:04 PM

Is anyone staying after the bike trip to do some other travelling. I am taking a couple of days to travel to Belfast to see the Titanic Museum
