Bring rain gear! When I went on this trip in Sept. 2 years ago we had very cool, damp weather. Bring something warm to put on at lunch in case you're cold and damp. Also a waterproof pack cover is a must for your stuff on bike rack.

any clothing recommendations?
Bruce Doyle Aug 26, 2015 at 07:42 PM

Ray, short sleeve shirts and shorts for biking. Removable arms and leg covers for cool mornings. Small selection of clothes for evenings but not to enter a fashion show! Light goretex jacket for cool nights and rain. Sandals and hiking boots for walking and riding.

My wife and I are looking forward meeting all of the 9/5 -9/18 participants. Traveling from Pittsburgh.

Bruce Doyle Jul 12, 2015 at 11:42 AM

My wife and I have done numerous bike trips with RS and enjoyed all. We are arriving in Europe on 8/27 but will be staying in western Germany with son stationed there with USAF. We plan to move to Berlin 3-4 Sep. depending on sons schedule as he and wife will be joining us for the few days prior to RS trip
We will attempt to rendezvous with the group on the 6th, if not before to make the airport meeting. Will post our hotel when known. Praying for great weather.

I am also going to Berlin in advance of the bike trip (arriving 8-31) and staying at the Leonardo Berlin Mitte--thanks for the tip Susan. Plan to do a lot of sightseeing and possibly meet with friends. Look forward to meeting others from the trip in Berlin as well. It is my first RS trip.
Susan Engle Jun 03, 2015 at 07:48 PM

Great Karen. We will try to get in touch at the hotel. This is our 2nd RS bike trip. You will love it. See you in Sept!

Susan Engle Mar 11, 2015 at 03:49 PM

We are also traveling to Berlin (9-2-15) a couple of days early to site see and recover for J-lag. We are planning to stay in the Mitte area. Anyone else departing early?

Glenn Erickson Jun 23, 2014 at 06:36 PM

We are flying into Berlin two nights early (arr 9/5am). Any recommendations for moderately priced hotel would be appreciated.
Susan Engle Apr 23, 2015 at 05:08 PM

We are arriving into Berlin 9/3 and staying at the Leonardo Hotel Berlin Mitte. $170/night. Great location! Let us know if you book the same hotel.

John Caffrey Apr 19, 2014 at 05:47 PM

We are arriving in Berlin a day early and will be sightseeing as we recover from jet lag. We will then travel back to airport to meet the group the next morning. If anyone is doing the same thing we should join forces. My wife speaks German and can get us to our destination.
Glenn Erickson Jun 23, 2014 at 06:32 PM

Are you going in September, or did you already go in May?
