Celine Chilenski Sep 17, 2015 at 06:10 PM

Yes I am leaving form Atlanta at 3:15 PM, is that your flight?
Addie Myers Sep 17, 2015 at 06:17 PM

My flight is at 5:53PM. See you at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam!!

Tara Barnes Sep 15, 2015 at 09:01 PM

My mother and I are registered for the Sept 24-Oct 3 trip and are leaving from JFK. Anyone else on the Delta flight departing at 16:18? We will be extending our trip for a few days at the end to include Bruges. Any advice?
Dorothy Brown Sep 16, 2015 at 09:11 AM

I did this trip in May, and it was colder than I expected. If you have some free time in Amsterdam, get a day ticket on the water taxi, and just cruise the canals. We did this on a rainy day to stay dry, and still saw a lot of interesting stuff.

Addie Myers Sep 03, 2015 at 06:42 PM

I am registered for Oct 8-17th trip. Would love to say a pre hello to anyone else on this trip and of course any suggestions or comments from those that have done this trip before.
Barbara Cauthorn Sep 07, 2015 at 01:56 PM

I was on this wonderful trip spring of last year. Take warm clothes including gloves and a hat.
Addie Myers Sep 08, 2015 at 06:35 PM

I'm attending the Oct 8-17, 2015 trip and staying in Amsterdam until the 21st. Is anyone else extending their trip?

Vermont Traveler Apr 25, 2015 at 08:35 AM

I'm enrolled for the May 14-23, 2015 trip. Anyone else enrolled; advice from others who have previously done this tour?
Dorothy Brown Apr 25, 2015 at 09:29 AM

I did this trip last May and enjoyed it very much. The first day I almost froze to death. I left the US in a cotton jumper and t-shirt with a light jacket. We couldn't get to our suitcases until we reached the hotel, so the rest of that day I froze. Take something warm along with you in your carry on. Keukenhof gardens was the highlight of the trip. And we got a day pass on one of the water taxis, and spent about 3 hrs. just cruising the canals -- fabulous views you don't get from land. Lunch at Cafe 't Smalle was great. More rain than I expected, but I still enjoyed the trip. The boat ("Allure") and it's crew were great. The food was very good.

I've been on canal boats in the UK, but never on a barge in Europe. Any tips for a first barge trip? We are staying two days after the program ends, and visiting Keukenhof Gardens on Sunday. Has anyone been there? What is it like?
Richard Murray Mar 31, 2014 at 07:30 PM

We arrive for one night stay before the program begins
Barbara Cauthorn Apr 09, 2014 at 02:29 PM

Will you be staying at the Conscious Hotel? Hope to see you there!
Richard Murray Apr 09, 2014 at 03:28 PM

We have canceled our reservation at the hotel before the program begins.

Barbara Cauthorn Dec 15, 2013 at 01:23 PM

I'll be arriving on April 30th for the May 1-10 trip. Anyone else getting there early?
Laura Nelson Jan 30, 2014 at 11:03 PM

We are going on that trip in May also. Not arriving early, but staying on at the end. Look forward to meeting you!
Emily Maas Mar 08, 2014 at 08:14 PM

A friend and I are staying over two days after the May 1-10 trip to see more of Amsterdam
Richard Murray Mar 31, 2014 at 07:30 PM

We go to England for a week after the barge trip.

Bill Zarchy Sep 27, 2013 at 04:23 PM

My wife Susan and I are traveling on the 10/10 departure. We're actually arriving in Amsterdam a couple of days early and may take a day trip to Bruges. Also, if anyone else is there early, we'd be interested in sharing a cab to the airport on 10/11 to meet the rest of the group. Looking forward to it!
Richard Murray Mar 31, 2014 at 07:31 PM

Sharing a cab sounds like a good idea.
