Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Anyone traveling from Maryland to this great adventure February 24th ?

Laurie Willard Sep 08, 2014 at 06:44 PM

Solo travelers: did the large group size make it more difficult to make friends?
Carolyn Bishop Sep 08, 2014 at 09:24 PM

Thought i had posted on this but don't see it, so forgive repetition: the large group is divided into small groups which really helps, then you tour and go out for meals together and strike up conversations. The Hotel has a great cocktail hour and snacks (If it's the Dfury Riverwalk) that are really dinner so again, another place to meet fellow travelers. One of the first i met turned out to be from my home town in NYState!

Is anyone interested in the Nov 2014 San Antonio trip, I need a roomate. Contact olivarez1944@aol.com, haven't booked yet.

Lydia- after you sign up, we'll match you with another traveler who needs a roommate. You don't need to find one on your own in order to enroll. Please sign up and we'll match you with someone- no worries! We look forward to meeting you.

Is anyone (female) interested in going and sharing a room? I'm fairly flexible about dates.
Linda Elsaesser Dec 08, 2013 at 09:09 PM

Are you thinking about the San Antonio trip on 2/17. I am looking for a roomate (female) for that trip. I have already booked it. Coming from California.

Diane..Do you know if there's time before dinner to change? That would determine whether I can get everything packed in carry-on. Asked RS but they didn't know. K

Most of the ones I've gone on had sufficient time to change before dinner. It will depend on the schedule for the day. At least we did the first and last day. Wish I had a definite answer for you. I'm not necessarily planning to change most days, except maybe a top and for the celebratory dinner. Diane

Thanks so much for your help. Hope to get to meet you in San Antonio. Kathleen

No way I could do it. Good luck. As we get closer, I'll check the weather, but I think I'll need some mock tnecks and/or sweaters which will take up room. And I want something decent for the last dinner. Wish I could bring my two Chihuahuas along. Diane

Hi Kathleen
Looking forward to meeting you also. This is my second trip with Road Scholar. Did the Seattle trip in Sept. I used to work with a guy here in Calif. whose family lived in Raleigh. He eventually returned home. Good friend. Have you lived in Raleigh long? You might know his family.
kathleen bradshaw Nov 04, 2013 at 02:36 PM

I've been in Raleigh for 7 years....before that NY. Thanks, Kathleen
