ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hello. Going July 15-29. Solo. But signed up as double and understand I have a mystery roommate! I'm from NY area. Anyone else from there?

Linda Watson Mar 04, 2015 at 01:48 PM

We are going July 15-29.
Caroline Touchton Mar 04, 2015 at 02:50 PM

Did you research the weather to decide on that time?

Nancy Bikaunieks Feb 22, 2015 at 08:56 AM

My husband and I have booked September 9th date. We both like the fall and there is less problem with pesky midges.
Jill Clardy Feb 27, 2015 at 08:13 PM

We just signed up too ! We prefer to travel in September after all the kids have gone back to school :)
Nancy Bikaunieks Feb 27, 2015 at 08:32 PM

When is the best time to go--least rain! Are people friendly if I go alone? Caroline Touchton
Carol Gotay Feb 19, 2015 at 02:26 PM

Hi: I think the best are the June dates. As far as friendly people, that is a crap shoot. I have been the only single amongst couples and found it quite lonely and have been where there were several single women and found it very friendly. I think you have to make a decision that you will enjoy yourself either way. Meals alone can be hard, but you manage. Bring a book to read and it eases the absence of conversation with another human. Good luck.
Edna Beam Feb 20, 2015 at 08:01 AM

I think the Apr-May timeframe is best. Less rainfall than summer months, fewer students on holiday, and more hours of sunshine. I have always traveled with a friend but wouldn't hesitate to go alone.
Marlene Hackland Mar 13, 2015 at 03:26 PM

We are on your tour and we are going to try and pack light. We always bring way too much and I have heard the rooms are small. We are taking medium sized wheeled duffles and backpacks. We will be be able to wash clothes on the trip. About 6 weeks before the trip, so excited!!

Edna Beam Feb 18, 2015 at 12:30 PM

I am enrolled in the April 29 trip, and noticed that some hotels do not have elevators. Question for previous participants: Were porters available to carry bags up? Trying to decide how light to pack.
Caroline Touchton Mar 04, 2015 at 02:54 PM

I always think the lighter the better, but I don't mind rinsing things in the sink and bring extra scarves to change the look! Caroline Touchton

I took this tour in September, 2014. I was extremely pleased with the tour! I found the Tour Director, Rod to be interesting and very accommodating.mmthe Tour Guide, Rita was also very interesting. The hotels and restaurants were all lovely and charming! The country is beautiful and the people very friendly! The history is awesome! You will see several castles ~ they are truly magnificent!

I'm interested in this trip for next year but read some negative reviews about the tour guides, hotels, etc., particularly on the July 2014 trip. Just wondering if anyone who took this tour after July 2014 has any info on whether or not RS has taken care of these problems. I recently took a RS tour of Croatia by yacht that was fabulous and I'd hate to be disappointed after such a good experience. Thanks.

Tou Instructor to be magnificent! Very knowledgeable and personable! I found the hotels to be charming and comfortable. Keep in mind, most of the hotels are old, but I found that to be part of the charm. They were still clean and I found them comfortable. The countryside is beautiful, and the people very friendly. Wonderful and interesting sights, including many castles!). I don't think you will be disappointed! Go!
Sandy Lilley Oct 31, 2014 at 04:03 PM

Tour Instructor's name was Rita Adam. Sorry for all the re-posting! Kept having problems getting back into the post to add or correct.
