Hey I'll be going on the 11/5/14 trip. Would love to correspond with others who will be on that cruise. Bobbie

My browser could not locate the URL given by Road Scholar. Google "Argentina Entry Reciprocity Fee" and choose the listing for the Argentina Embassy. Have your passport and credit card handy.

Is anyone having difficulties in paying for the Argentina entry fee. My Safari browser won't go there because the site is "unsafe."

Finally got to a site that worked: http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesible/templates/reciprocidad/reciprocidad.htm

Thanks to Mr. Groeneman for his recommendation of the Walker book. Just ordered it. Has anyone been challenged by their efforts to measure for a parka? For some reason my wife and I do not fit neatly into a single size.
Susan Hamilton Oct 27, 2014 at 10:51 PM

Yes, I had that problem and so did my roommate! People are not those sizes! But I made a best guess and hope it fits, or that they have extras that may fit. I look forward to meeting you next week.
Christine Burger Dec 02, 2014 at 09:24 AM

We are traveling in February 2015, and hope that those of you who have already been can give advice on size equivalents for the parka with familiar brands, such as The North Face, since based on measuring one of those I would be a women's Small, yet it is a North Face Large.

i'm trying to decide between this trip and the best time to see wildlife or is the falklands,S. georgia antartic islands the better trip to take for seeing wildlife?

Henry Cohen May 03, 2014 at 07:25 PM

Couldn't have been better. Even the Drake passage cooperated ..one way.

Sid Groeneman Jan 27, 2014 at 06:35 PM

Just finished reading British scientist Gabrielle Walker's new book, Antarctica - 350 pages of everything you'd want to know about the continent: history of exploration, climate and geology, wildlife, and especially the intensive scientific research of the past 3-4 decades. While the book would have benefitted from some editing, I recommend it for anyone traveling to Antarctica for the first time. - Sid Groeneman (signed up with wife Beth for the Nov. 2014 trip)

Hello fellow travelers! My daughter and I are very excited to go on this trip and meet all of you. Is anyone else extending their stay in Ushuaia after the cruise ? We have extra space in our cabin at a bed and breakfast if you are interested in joining us. We will be exploring the area from the 18th to the 21st when we fly home.
Shirley Ferguson Sep 21, 2013 at 08:59 PM

Oh, Diana, wish I'd known earlier. I was interested in extending in Ushuaia but logistically it was getting challenging so I opted not to. All the places I'd researched were full. Where are you staying? Shirley
