Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hello I am on the 17 July 2013 trip. I just spoke with a university professor who leads regular trips to Cuba and she suggested bringing underwear and flashdrives as gifts.

Just returned from the April 10-18 trip and it was excellent. A few notes: the surtax on exchanging USD has been lifted, so no need to bring Canadian or Euros to save on exchange fee. Money can be changed at hotels--very convenient. If anyone has specific questions, I'd be glad to answer.

Hey everybody on the 4/17-25/13 program #20610:
Desiree Schroeder of RS informs me that we are not, in fact, going to the Beny School of Arts OR the Jewish Center; only the Senior Center so if you have purchased things for those places per the list of "gifts" you should find another place to donate them or return them to the store. I'm glad I inquired as to the nonsensical description of Day Six as I was about to go and spend a fortune on musical instrument supplies.
I'm one of the 3 SF travelers mentioned in Ann Possinger's postings below and I look forward to meeting all of you.

I have just returned from the Cuban Art Revolution tour and you are in for a wonderful treat! The guides are fantastic and couldn't be more helpful or informed. The "pit stops" were many and we did use the toilet on the bus. Also...tp is available for change in all of the bathrooms so don't load down your luggage with a lot of it. Taking some kleenex is helpful since there's not a lot of it around. A face towel is also good to bring because the hotel does not provide them. I found that reading the Discussion Boards on all of the Cuban trips was very helpful and I learned almost everything that I needed to know. Have a wonderful time because it's a "trip of a lifetime" and we're all very fortunate to have this opportunity!

Is the tour bus modern enough to include an on-board toilet?

There is an on-board toilet but we were discouraged from using it except in the direst of emergencies. We were never on the bus very long and there are plenty of "pit stops." Our guide was great about saying "if you can hold it, there's a better toilet in 15 minutes." I am not aware of anyone using the toilet on the bus the whole week, actually.

Does anyone know if we can exchange $100 bills or just smaller ones?

Hello, Ann: I found this on one of the other discussion boards: Don't take US DOLLARS you will lose 12% upon conversion.. You need to bring either EUROS OR CANADIAN DOLLARS.. Take at least $200 USD per day since you cannot use a US BANK CREDIT CARD.. ONLY CONVERT EITHER YOUR EUROS OR Canadian Dollars on a daily basis to CUC'S .. Othewise if you convert it all you will pay again to convert it back.. Bring either EUR or CAD 50 OR 100 NOTES.. Hope that helps.

Thank you Jane. Is that what you did? We have to pay to convert to Canadian or Euros as well so I don't know how much that it. But since I may go to Canada this year, I think I will change into Canadian and keep any I don't spend in Cuba.

There are 3 single ladies coming from SF. Two are paired as roommates and I signed up for a roommate so wondering if I'll get one. Ann Possinger
