Hi Martha-I found the trip to be overall a wonderful experience. The days were a little too long for me, particularly if there was an evening activity planned. I coped by taking some days or afternoons off. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable, and the people in the group were fantastic! I was apprehensive about going by myself, but I met some good buddies that I could hang out with.
Martha Lentz Feb 04, 2015 at 11:01 PM

Thanks for your thoughts, Dotti. One of the things I like about this trip is the amount of free time so if you are tired or just want to be on your own, you can. Ima photographer (amateur) I like to be able to explore some on my own. I have been on a couple other Road Scholar trips by myself and they have worked out very well. Have you been on other RS trips.

Martha Lentz Jan 24, 2015 at 04:20 PM

I'm on the April 23 trip. Wondering who else is going on this trip as well.
Dorothy Huss Jan 25, 2015 at 06:43 PM

I went on the May trip last year and had a wonderful time. If you have any questions about the trip, I would be happy to answer.
Martha Lentz Jan 25, 2015 at 07:18 PM

I be interested in any comments you have. Weather, food, activity level, etc.
David Sellers Feb 16, 2015 at 05:02 PM

I'm signed up for the Apr. 23 trip, too, Martha. Looks like a good one. Anyone have ideas about where to go when we have free time?
Martha Lentz Feb 16, 2015 at 05:08 PM

I have no clue but I'm sure many sites will become evident very quickly. Im a photographer (serious amateur) and expect to find lots of inspiration! I'm from Maine and the anticipation of this trip is getting me through avery severe winter.
David Sellers Feb 16, 2015 at 05:14 PM

Sorry about your weather...reading about it out here on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound. Provence is definitely something for you to look forward to!

I'm on the 9/25-10/3 2014 trip to So. France. Am hoping to hear who else is on this trip. I'm also going to Paris for the 10/5-12 2014, anyone doing that?
Marie Sep 08, 2014 at 10:53 AM

I am doing the Provence trip next spring. Let me know how the trip goes.

Dorothy Huss Apr 28, 2014 at 04:57 PM

I am still looking for someone on the May 8 trip. Any advice from someone who has already taken the trip?

Dorothy Huss Mar 11, 2014 at 12:32 AM

I am going on the May 8 trip. Is anyone else on this trip?

Jeanette Huettner Oct 25, 2013 at 09:34 AM

I am considering this trip for 2014. Can anyone who has taken it comment on the level of difficulty involved?
Tina Sparuk Oct 25, 2013 at 09:56 AM

I will let you know when I get back
Jeanette Huettner Oct 25, 2013 at 12:33 PM

Great. Thanks, it'll give me a head's up on what to expect...

Tina Sparuk Oct 21, 2013 at 10:11 PM

Anyone going on Oct 31st trip?

Marie Jul 09, 2013 at 03:53 AM

Anyone going ?
Jo Anne Kindler Jul 15, 2013 at 03:17 PM

I am! So excited. My husband and I are following this trip up with 10 days in Paris.
Bonny Jul 19, 2013 at 07:33 PM

Yes, my husband and I are going. This is our first trip with Road Scholar. We are from Delaware and we are flying out of Philadelphia.
Jo Anne Kindler Jul 25, 2013 at 02:11 AM

We live in the Los Angeles area, and arriving a day early in Aix. I took a trip to Northern California (Land of Medecine Buddha) and thought it was wonderful. I'm looking forward to travelling with RS again. We have one daughter, who is entering college in September, so we're going to be empty nesters--hence the trip!
Jo Anne Kindler Jul 25, 2013 at 02:12 AM

(mispelled Medicine!)
Jo Anne Kindler Aug 03, 2013 at 07:45 PM

We're planning to go to Marseille on October 4th to see the new MuCEM. If anyone is going early and wants to join us, let me know!
Bonny Aug 28, 2013 at 08:38 PM

Hi Sandy! Most importantly comfortable shoes, a handbag that you can wear across your body and don't engage wih anyone that is asking for directions or trying to sell you something on the street.
Jo Anne Kindler Aug 29, 2013 at 05:46 PM

I bought a Pacsafe brand backpack, and my husband has their messenger back. They are pricy, but no one can cut the straps or easily open zippers. Worth the peace of mind for me (but of course, the important things will be in a money belt!)
Jo Anne Kindler Aug 29, 2013 at 05:47 PM

Sandy, we live in the Los Angeles area, but I'm originally from Palatine.
Jo Anne Kindler Aug 29, 2013 at 05:48 PM

Are we all going on the same date? The one we signed up for starts on October 3 officially, October 4 in France.
Dorothy Huss Mar 11, 2014 at 12:30 AM

I am going on the May 8 trip. Is anyone else on this trip?
