Hi, My Grandson, Theo, 14 Years will be attending the June 13th trip to Hawaii, leaving from Chicago. Who else out there will be joining us?

Linda Milligan Sep 21, 2015 at 05:53 PM

I signed up for next summer with my granddaughter. This is listed as moderately challenging. While I am not concern for my 13 almost 14 year old granddaughter I am wondering about myself. I can not surf and although I do snorkel I prefer to use a vest. I am wondering how I will fare? Mi am not worrying about the walking

Linda, My 12 yr old Granddaughter and I had a wonderful time. She learned how to surf and loved it. I chose not to surf but we did go on a outrigger canoe and road it in on the waves. It was safe and fun. You can definitely use a vest while snorkeling. We snorkeled twice, once off the beach and the other off a Trimaran. This trip was actually less challenging than the previous two that were also rated as "moderate" You will do fine!! Let me know if you have any other questions. My granddaughter said it was her most favorite vacation ever!!

Did you bring your own snorkel gear? It seams like they offer many opportunities. I appreciate your reply.

My Granddaughter and i are arriving on July 20th at 12:22 from DFW. I just booked a shuttle from Speedi Shuttle. Paige is 12 and lives in Chicago. I live in Pittsburgh. We are very excited to be part of this trip and look forward to meeting our fellow travelers. This is my third Intergenerational trip with Road Scholar. The previous ones have all been wonderful and memorable trips. Save travels,

My granddaughter and I will be traveling on 7/20/15 for the Hawaii Intergenerational. Would appreciate any things we should know from the folks who attend the earlier session. Was it okay to have hotel towels only?, etc. We are arriving HNL from San Diego on July 20th at 1 pm.
Mary Mcallister Jun 11, 2015 at 10:43 AM

Hi Kris, my grandson and I will also attend the 7/20/15 Hawai'i program. Arriving from DFW at 4pm on 7/20. Looking forward to meeting you.
Linda Prokopy Jul 07, 2015 at 09:40 AM

My granddaughter and I will be going to Hawaii on July 20, 2015 also.
Linda Prokopy Jul 07, 2015 at 09:44 AM

We are arriving at Honolulu at 2:40 pm coming from Indiana and will be reserving a shuttle. Don't know about towels - we are bringing one and will buy the straw mats for the beach! I've been to Hawaii several times (none on Road Scholar) and remember that mats and beach equipment are reasonably priced. Looking forward to meeting you!!
Kris Acquarelli Jul 08, 2015 at 02:41 PM

Me too. I've taken lots of trips with grandkids and like them better than any others that I take. Sophie is 13 and is really looking forward to this trip.
Mary Mcallister Jul 10, 2015 at 03:02 PM

Linda or Kris, can either of you reccomend a shuttle from x

Honolulu airport to the holel. We won't arrive until late Monday pm. Still hoping to make dinner at the hotel by 6

Doris Mattraw May 29, 2015 at 01:35 PM

Two Questions:
1. Is anyone packing beach towels? I'm hoping hotels will provide.
2. Is anyone interested in sharing a taxi? My granddaughter and I will be arriving at HNL on UA, 641, from LAX, Terminal M on 6/15.
Sue Packard May 29, 2015 at 08:25 PM

I too wondered about towels so I called the hotel and they do provide beach towels and they do have laundry facilities on site. Yea!

Mary Grady May 21, 2015 at 07:40 PM

Will arrive in Honolulu at 2:30 on Monday, June 15. Two of us would be happy to share a taxi to hotel.
