Walking sticks, sunglasses, and a light but warm jacket. You will receive a heavy parka for the landings. Have a great trip!

Leaving on Nov 17 /15 Anyone with hints re: clothing equipment etc, things I wished I had brought?
Deborah Channell Oct 31, 2015 at 02:45 PM

Bring walking sticks - very helpful on the snow and ice. Long underwear is helpful as are glove liners. Be prepared to layer your clothes. It will be warmer than you expect, especially trekking over the continent. If you have the opportunity to camp on the continent - take it. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Have a great time!

Hey I'll be going on the 11/5/14 trip. Would love to correspond with others who will be on that cruise. Bobbie

My browser could not locate the URL given by Road Scholar. Google "Argentina Entry Reciprocity Fee" and choose the listing for the Argentina Embassy. Have your passport and credit card handy.

Is anyone having difficulties in paying for the Argentina entry fee. My Safari browser won't go there because the site is "unsafe."
Joan Francis Oct 01, 2014 at 07:48 PM

Finally got to a site that worked: http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesible/templates/reciprocidad/reciprocidad.htm

Thanks to Mr. Groeneman for his recommendation of the Walker book. Just ordered it. Has anyone been challenged by their efforts to measure for a parka? For some reason my wife and I do not fit neatly into a single size.
Susan Hamilton Oct 27, 2014 at 10:51 PM

Yes, I had that problem and so did my roommate! People are not those sizes! But I made a best guess and hope it fits, or that they have extras that may fit. I look forward to meeting you next week.
Christine Burger Dec 02, 2014 at 09:24 AM

We are traveling in February 2015, and hope that those of you who have already been can give advice on size equivalents for the parka with familiar brands, such as The North Face, since based on measuring one of those I would be a women's Small, yet it is a North Face Large.

i'm trying to decide between this trip and the best time to see wildlife or is the falklands,S. georgia antartic islands the better trip to take for seeing wildlife?

Henry Cohen May 03, 2014 at 07:25 PM

Couldn't have been better. Even the Drake passage cooperated ..one way.
