Thinking in enrolling in June 7-12 program with 10 year old granddaughter coming from Austin, TX. Would love to hear from any others enrolled/considering this date.

Just enrolled in the 2015 program - June 21-26, with our 11 year-old grandson- coming from Ohio. We appreciate the info on area activities.

Attending with my 12 year old grandson. Has anyone thought about an activity for the Free Afternoon on 8/6?
Penny Jul 22, 2014 at 08:12 PM

I'd like to see what there is , we are coming in a day early and going to Doplphins Plus on early Sunday. I am not familiar with the area and don't have a car at my disposal so guess we will wing it. I can't wait
Nora Quinn-Kelly Jul 24, 2014 at 10:06 AM

Thanks for the idea, Penny. That day is my grandson's birthday so I think I will try to book the dolphin swim. It's a rather expensive gift, I know, but will probably never have another opportunity. Not many dolphins in Ohio!
Penny Jul 24, 2014 at 12:46 PM

It is expensive but I thought we will only be there once. Our booking is at 1:00 on Sunaday. It takes about two hours so I thought we would be back in plenty of time for the initial meeting that evening. There is a good website for Dolphin Plus online. It is about 7 miles away from our lodging and cabs are available. I think I am more excited about the dolphins than my grandson.

Looking forward to snorkeling with granddaughter. Is anyone else going Aug 3-8?
Penny Jul 09, 2014 at 12:17 AM

Does anyone know about the cost of renting snorkeling equipment for this program? I thought it was included, and then I think I saw something about a charge.
Nora Quinn-Kelly Jul 16, 2014 at 03:31 PM

Mask, snorkel and fins are provided along with a safety vest.

I just found a reading list right here under "program details" but if anyone has other suggestions, we would still be interested.

Elizabeth Kirk Jun 02, 2013 at 07:52 AM

Our granddaughters are looking forward to this program. Somewhere I saw mentioned there should be a list of reading material included in the packet but I can not find it. One of our granddaughters is interested in suggestions for reading more about coral reefs or sea turtles. Any suggestions?

Is anyone else looking for a way to get from Miami airport to Key Largo for this program?
Elaine Binger May 01, 2013 at 12:58 PM

There is a complimentary shuttle through Road Scholar. Check your program info and sign up for it! It leaves MIA at about 2:45 on the afternoon of June 16th.
Sheila Pope May 09, 2013 at 10:37 AM

Thanks Elaine.. I am able to book a flight that arrives at 1:25pm on the 14th. Need to book the return flight though. Could you tell me what time the shuttle is likely to arrive at the airport on the last day of the program..July 19. Thanks Sheila Pope
Sheila Pope May 09, 2013 at 12:11 PM

I feel like an idiot. Now I see the details of the last day. the shuttle leaves at 9am. If it leaves at 9am when is the wrap-up on that day?
