6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My dad is able to walk long distances, but standing around is difficult for him (he is 84). Can I bring a folding stool?
Tracy Eppinger Feb 17, 2015 at 05:26 PM

Hi there, your dad would be walking long distances & short ones for hours listening to commentaries on stories & facts abiut Disney that are very interesting & well represented, but the pace is vigorous. I would call this program "active" not "moderate". I am 82 & was thankful I got thru to the end of it. A folding stool would be cumbersome to carry around, you really don't have any time to sit because you are very much on the move most of the time.

We just signed up for Mar 22 WDW program. Looking to visit UNiversal a few days before. Looking for anyone who may also be coming early.

Tracy Eppinger Jul 12, 2014 at 12:12 PM

Guess what I searched around some more & found some good reviews, so I have signed up. I'm attending the Jan.18 to 23rd one. Please, if you are going to this one reply to this post & we can get acquainted? Tracy

It has been a few years since I have been to Disney, I live near Tampa, looking forward to this program.

Sandy and I took the trip with Road Scholar in 2013. Everything was great. We are seasoned travelers and do not "knell" ( I guess is the closest word in English is "gush") over everything. Any issues, and they were few and minor, were addressed and resolved promptly. We found "The Mystery Behind the Magic" fascinating and fun. Enjoy! Enjoy!
Sandy and Arnie Holtzman Jun 28, 2014 at 09:29 AM

"knell" above should read "kvell." Word program "corrected" me and I didn't notice.

The price is $3600 for two (plus air transportation.) I've taken 10 and 12 day European river boat trips for less. Is this program worth the price??

Driving down from the WDC area starting on 3/9/2013 to first do the canoe tour at Crystal River then to Orlando for this Disney event.

Is anyone going to the WDW program March 17-22?
Joanne Holcomb Feb 10, 2013 at 04:33 PM

Yes, my husband Henry and I plan to be there. I have NEVER seen Epcot, so really look forward to the program! Have met couples on other Road Scholar programs who highly recommend WDW.

Joanne Holcomb Jan 28, 2013 at 10:33 AM

Has anyone heard anything about (or used) the hotel for "Disney, Behind the Magic"? We read on-line reviews, and many were negative. ex.:rooms and bath dirty.
Kenneth Smith Jan 28, 2013 at 08:38 PM

Reviews are a bit discouraging. Let's hope that Road Scholar and local provider work to insure that we have the best of the rooms available!
