Do you expect to run this program in August 2015? Sounds wonderful, so I hope so!

My wife and I just signed up for this adventure scheduled for August 2013. We enjoy trying different adventures but have never been kayaking. Do you recommend that we take a lesson or two on the water before this trip? If so, is there a particular type of lesson we should take?
Ellen Sweeney Mar 03, 2013 at 08:41 AM

CommHello, My heart is smiling for you both right now. You will have the best time. The trip is very well organized and I never felt unsafe whether kayaking or hiking or on the ship. Sooo cool! I was able to sign up for a beginning kayaking trip on a river near me. It was through LL Bean and was the perfect opportunity to take some of the unknown out of kayaking. The staff in Maine will help you through the process and supported those that were less comfortable. I was kind of in the middle of abilities but never felt left behind or worried. Enjoy every minute and please don't hesitate to contact me with further questions. Have a great day and a great trip!

Does anyone need a ride up on Sunday? I am driving from Augusta at 10 am, getting to Eastport via Bangor, Rte 9 to Lubec, then taking ferries from Campobello to Eastport. Unable to commit to a ride on the return, as my return plans are still up in the air. L.

Yes, we would love to ride up to Eastport with you. We will be flying into Bangor on Saturday and staying in a hotel so we can go at anytime on Sunday. We are a party of 3, myself, husband, and sister. My phone number is 614 898 9375. We have not yet made our hotel reservations as we only signed up for the trip this morning- our first with Road Scholar.

Hello. I am very excited about this program. I would like to start organizing for packing and materials. Would you please let me know what list of items I need to prepare for this trip. Thanks so much. Ellen
